We are excited to announce the launch of the Center for Writing Excellence (CWE), a new unified hub for writing support at Baylor. The CWE brings together the University Writing Center (UWC) and the Graduate Writing Center (GWC) under one umbrella. We are located on the 2nd floor of Moody Library and supported by the College of Arts and Sciences and the Graduate School.
The CWE is organized into two distinct divisions:
1. Division of Undergraduate Writing (DUW)—serves all undergraduate students and undergraduate courses
2. Division of Graduate Writing (DGW)—serves all graduate students, faculty and staff writers, and graduate courses
Each division maintains its own writing center and provides tailored outreach to meet the needs of its community. We look forward to supporting writers and writing instruction across campus!

The National Day on Writing was first created by the National Council of Teachers of English in 2009, celebrating writing as a vital part of literacy and encouraging people to engage with writing in a variety of ways. Thank you to the Baylor students and faculty who participated in our event on Monday!
How can you continue to celebrate NDOW this week?
🍎 Read that book you’ve been eyeing in the bookstore, or pick up a book you haven’t read in a while. Explore some wonderful genres of literature!
🍎 Try journaling for one week; journaling allows for self-reflection and self-expression.
🍎 Explore new writing genres: Write a poem, a short story, a personal narrative; take a chance on something new!
🍎 Post on your social media and share what writing means to you!
