๐ŸŒฟ Loverโ€™s Leap Cleanup โ€“ Join Us! ๐ŸŒฟ

Baylor Lodge #1235 is proud to continue our commitment to the Waco community with another cleanup at Loverโ€™s Leap in Cameron Park, in partnership with Keep Waco Beautiful.

๐Ÿ—“ Saturday, August 29, 2026
โฐ 9:00 AM (approximately 2 hours)

Loverโ€™s Leap offers one of the most beautiful overlooks in our city. Letโ€™s do our part to keep it that way.

Weโ€™ll be picking up litter, tidying the area, and enjoying some good fellowship while serving our community. Cleanup supplies, food, drinks, and refreshments will be provided for volunteers.

Whether youโ€™re a Mason, family member, spouse, friend, or simply someone who loves Waco and wants to lend a hand โ€” you are welcome! You do not need to be a member of Baylor Lodge to participate. Community service is better when we do it together.

โ˜€๏ธ We recommend bringing sunscreen, bug spray, and a reusable water bottle. Weโ€™ll have water and other drinks available as well.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Please RSVP through the Facebook event, GroupMe, or text James Newhouse at (210) 705-2646 so we can plan accordingly.

Letโ€™s show up, put in the work, enjoy some fellowship, and leave Loverโ€™s Leap better than we found it.

All are welcome. Bring the family, bring a friend, and come help us make a difference! ๐ŸŒฟ

On Saturday, June 27, Baylor Lodge installed its officers for the 2026โ€“2027 Masonic year. Many family members and friends joined us to support the officers as they accepted the responsibilities entrusted to them for the coming year.

This yearโ€™s installation took a somewhat less traditional approach, centered on meeting one another on the Level, strengthening our group dynamics, and preparing Baylor Lodge for an especially important milestoneโ€”our 100th anniversary this December.

On July 4, approximately 16 members, family members, and friends gathered throughout the afternoon for food, fellowship, and a little Texas heat.

We extend our appreciation to Worshipful Master Jon Spann and Matyastik Tax Service for hosting the celebration. Brother James Newhouse assisted with setup, while WM Spann took command of the grill and served up some very tasty burgers and hot dogs.

Despite the heat, everyone had a great time enjoying good food, conversation, and fellowship beneath a beautiful display of American flags.

Our July stated meeting brought 25 men together, including four visiting Brothers:

Brother Doug Enhelder of Eddy Lodge No. 797
Brother Jim Teal, PM, of West Lodge No. 475
Brother Wes Roberts, PM, of West Lodge No. 475
Brother Chris DeCluitt, PM of Gurley Lodge No. 337 and WM of White Rock Lodge No. 234

We were grateful to have each of them with us.

During the meeting, WM Spann outlined his expectations and vision for the coming year. Senior Warden Reginald R. Parmer also reviewed proper Lodge decorum, helping establish the standards and shared responsibilities that will guide us throughout the year.

On July 11, 12 members, family members, and friends took on the trails of Cameron Park for a morning of exercise and fellowship.

Our route included River Trail, Bat Cave, Baseball Trail, Speedrun, Edge Lookout, and Circle Point. We also made it to Loverโ€™s Leap, where we were able to see Baylor Lodgeโ€™s sign overlooking the river. Some members of the group added an extra challenge by climbing Jacobโ€™s Ladder before everyone made their way back along River Trail.

It was hotโ€”and Cameron Park made sure we earned every stepโ€”but everyone stayed hydrated, got some good exercise, and enjoyed excellent fellowship along the way. Several members of the group continued the fellowship over lunch afterward.

On July 16, Baylor Lodge Musician Eric Huggins performed with Eric & Thomas Unplugged at Dog Haus.

Worshipful Master Jon Spann and Master of Ceremonies Morgan J. McGee came out to support Brother Huggins and enjoy the performance. Brotherhood does not stop when the Lodge closes, and it is always good to see our members supporting one another in their lives and talents outside Masonry.

From installing a new officer line to sharing meals, welcoming visitors, hiking the trails of Cameron Park, and supporting a Brotherโ€™s performance, the beginning of this Masonic year has already demonstrated the fellowship that makes Baylor Lodge special.

As we prepare to celebrate Baylor Lodge No. 1235โ€™s centennial this December, we remain proud of our history, committed to meeting on the Level, and excited about what lies ahead.

A great night at Baylor Lodge #1235 as we welcomed our newest Entered Apprentice Mason!

We had 24 Brethren in attendance for the degree, and the evening was made even more special by the presence of four family members supporting him as he begins his Masonic journey.

It is always meaningful to see a Masonic legacy continue, and weโ€™re proud to welcome him into the Craft.

Thank you to the officers, degree team, and visiting Brethren who helped put on a strong degree. Congratulations, Brother โ€” we look forward to walking with you as you continue your journey in Masonry.

What a day. What a crew. What a difference. ๐Ÿ’ช

This weekend, Baylor Lodge #1235 teamed up once again with Keep Waco Beautiful for our 4th Loverโ€™s Leap Cleanup, and it did not disappoint.

We had an awesome turnout of 15 volunteers โ€” Brothers, family members, kids, and even a few friends of the Lodge came out to put in the work. Thatโ€™s how you build something bigger than just a lodgeโ€ฆ thatโ€™s community. ๐Ÿค

๐Ÿ”ฅ Fellowship was strong all around โ€” whether it was working the trails, sharing laughs, or hanging out by the grill with some solid brats and snacks (because letโ€™s be honestโ€ฆ cleanup hits different when food is involved).

๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ Impact check:
โžก๏ธ 3 FULL large bags of trash collected
โžก๏ธ Countless small improvements to a space we all share
โžก๏ธ Positive interactions with the community throughout the day

We didnโ€™t just clean โ€” we represented. And people noticed. ๐Ÿ‘€

These events are always a reminder that Masonry isnโ€™t just about what happens inside the Lodgeโ€ฆ itโ€™s about showing up, putting in the work, and leaving things better than we found them.

๐Ÿ’š Big thank you to everyone who came out and made this event a success. Already looking forward to the next one, hoping to go even bigger!

A little late on the post, but Baylor Lodge showed up strong on March 24th in support of Right Worshipful DDGM Pablo Ramos III during his official visit to Bellmead Masonic Lodge No 1329.

We didnโ€™t just attendโ€”we got to work. Baylor Brothers stepped up to assist in opening and closing the Lodge and properly receiving our DDGM.

Representing Baylor Lodge:
๐Ÿ”น WM Brent Watts โ€“ Tiler
๐Ÿ”น PM Chris Eaton โ€“ Senior Deacon
๐Ÿ”น PM Scott Prevost (Baylor Lodge Secretary) โ€“ Senior Warden
๐Ÿ”น Brother Santiago โ€œJimmyโ€ Aguirre โ€“ District Education Officer

This is Texas Masonry at its bestโ€”showing up, backing each other, and doing things the right way.

And a special shoutout to Brother Alfred Lee for the GM Jim Rumsey Challenge Coin cupcakesโ€”those were next level. ๐Ÿ”ฅ Might have just set a new standard for DDGM visits.

Proud of Baylor Lodge. We show up, and we represent. ๐Ÿ’ช

Several Brothers from Baylor Lodge No. 1235 had the pleasure of attending the stated meeting of Waco Masonic Lodge 92 W in support of the official visit of R.W. Brother Joseph Arriola, District Deputy Grand Master of District 61-C.

Joining the evening was R.W. Brother Pablo Ramos III, DDGM of District 61-B, along with Brother Jimmy Aguirre, District Education Officer for 61-B, and Brothers from across the district including Brother Doug Fitzjarrell, District Instructor (61-C) and Brother Ryan Dirker, District Education Officer (61-C).

It was a great night of fellowship and support for our Brothers in Waco. Thank you to Worshipful Master Paul Curtright and the Brethren of Waco Lodge No. 92 for their hospitality and a wonderful meeting.

Freemasonry is always strongest when Brothers come together in fellowship and support of the Craft.

Baylor Lodge #1235 โ€“ March Stated Meeting Recap

Another great night of Masonry, fellowship, and brotherhood at Baylor Lodge!

Before the meeting, a big thank you to Brother Jon S Spann for providing a great meal and giving the Brethren a chance to enjoy some fellowship before opening the Lodge. ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ๐Ÿค

We had 18 Brothers in attendance, including 3 of our Entered Apprentices continuing their journey in the Craft, and we were honored to welcome a visiting Brother from Unity Masonic Lodge #1242. Texas Masonry stays strong when Brothers travel and visit one another. ๐Ÿค

One of the highlights of the evening was a special presentation to PM Chris Eaton, who was presented his Past Masterโ€™s Apron.

Worshipful Master Brent Watts conducted the presentation.

Right Worshipful Pablo Ramos III, District Deputy Grand Master of District 61-B, assisted and delivered a meaningful presentation as PM Eatonโ€™s immediate predecessor in the East.

It was a fitting moment recognizing the dedication and leadership required to serve a Lodge from the Oriental Chair. ๐Ÿ”ท

We also heard from Brother Ryan Dirker, who shared a heartfelt message about officially joining Baylor Lodge as a plural member. Though officially new on the rolls, heโ€™s been part of our fellowship and social circles for quite some time. It was great to formally welcome him home to Baylor Lodge.

The Lodge also discussed the launch of something new for our members:
๐Ÿ“ฐ The Baylor Lodge #1235 Trestleboard โ€” our new monthly newsletter.
This project was conceptualized and created through the work of our Communications, Membership, and Social Media Committees, and weโ€™re excited to continue building it as a resource to keep our Brothers informed and engaged.

For Masonic education, Brother Spann delivered an insightful presentation on the Jewels of the Lodge and the Cardinal Virtues, giving the Brethren something meaningful to reflect on as we continue our Masonic journeys. ๐Ÿ“œ

We also discussed several upcoming events:

๐Ÿ“ Lovers Leap Cleanup #4
๐Ÿ—“๏ธ April 19 โ€“ 1:00 PM
Community service in partnership with Keep Waco Beautiful

๐Ÿ”ฅ Spring Smoke Summit at the Newhouse-House
๐Ÿ—“๏ธ May 9
Food, fellowship, and a good time with the Brethren and friends

After Lodge closed, the fellowship continued as Brothers gathered and shared stories about how each of us eventually found our way to Baylor Lodge. Every Masonโ€™s path is different, but the destinationโ€”Brotherhoodโ€”is the same.

Thatโ€™s what makes Baylor Lodge special.

Brotherhood. Tradition. Texas Masonry.

๐Ÿ“œ March Trestleboard Now Available | Baylor Lodge No. 1235 ๐Ÿ“œ

Brethren and friends,

Our March 2026 Monthly Trestleboard has been published, and itโ€™s another strong reflection of what Baylor Lodge is about โ€” tradition, leadership, service, and building Brotherhood in Waco since 1926.

This month we:

๐Ÿ”น Recognize our Worshipful Master, Brent Watts, and his Masonic journey
๐Ÿ”น Reflect on the symbolic meaning of the Trestleboard itself
๐Ÿ”น Share updates on meetings, degree work, and upcoming events
๐Ÿ”น Highlight our connection to the York Rite Library & Museum
๐Ÿ”น Continue preparing for a busy spring of instruction and service

For our Brethren โ€” check the schedule carefully. March and April are full, and there are opportunities to step up, show up, and strengthen the work.

For our friends in the community โ€” if youโ€™ve ever wondered what Freemasonry looks like in action in Waco, this is it. Fellowship, education, service, and men working to improve themselves and their community.

As we move toward our Centennial celebration, the momentum is real. Baylor Lodge No. 1235 is active, growing, and proud of our heritage.
