2nd Grade Showcase projects…The Wonderful World of Ants. Who knew there were so many kinds of ants?!?🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

The worms have arrived.

1st grade GT students preparing the vermicomposting bin as part of our TPSP unit: Getting the Dirt on Soil: A Worm’s Eye View.

The 2nd and 3rd graders are completing an escape room called, “The Case of the Missing Ant” as part of their TPSP study on, “Hey, Little Ant.”

GT kids are checkin’ out our new ant farm as part of our study on ants. Stay tuned for info on the top 10 most popular ants in Texas.

First grade GT just finished their TPSP project, “What Pet Should I Get?” by making dioramas. Strangely enough, they all picked very exotic animals to have as pets: cockatoos, tigers, elephants and inland taipans. They researched and learned all about the animals strengths and weaknesses, survival needs, the cost for caring for the pets and what all of the pets have in common. Definitely a lot of rigor going on in this classroom.

My 2nd and 3rd grade GT students spent most of the semester studying the toy and game industry. Their final project was to invent a game of their own. Here are some of their products.
