It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Cadbury Dipper our beloved Vet Tech Rabbit. He developed kidney disease unexpectedly. Throughout his time in our program, he played an important role in teaching students proper handling, husbandry, and essential clinical skills. He will be deeply missed by both students and faculty.

Yesterday afternoon we we said goodbye to a very special member of our program family, Freckles, at the age of 26. Thank you to our former program Veterinarian, Dr. Clark, for coming to evaluate him and help to with the decision .

After a retiring from a fulfilling career in the arena, Freckles found a second calling in education — patiently teaching generations of veterinary technology students. He was gentle, dependable, and endlessly tolerant, embodying the quiet wisdom that only a seasoned horse can offer. Countless students learned not just technical skills from him, but also the responsibility and respect that come with caring for an animal who gives so much in return.

Freckles spent his retirement years surrounded by familiar faces, green pastures, and the comfort of routine. He will now rest alongside his pasture mates and fellow program horses who came before him — forever part of the heart of our ranch and our program.

Thank you, Freckles, for the lessons you taught, the calm you brought, and the memories you gave to so many. You were more than a teaching horse — you were a teacher, a partner, and a friend. 🐴💙
