BOOK JOY! Last week so many of our Spartans were nominated for a free book at the book fair. We also got to give out more free books from the book fair for summer reading yesterday. Our Spartans love to read, and they are going home with some excellent books! We even had a special guest encourage them to read over the summer!

A glimpse into the 2026 Annual King and Queen Ceremony and Dance 💚👑✨ Thank you again to everyone who helped make this a magical event.

I am truly honored to share that at last night’s Teacher of the Year Awards ceremony, I (Bria Ward), was recognized as South Waco's 2026 Teacher of the Year. Principal Atnip's commitment to our team was evident, as she made a point to attend the ceremony and accompany me, even amidst a particularly challenging week. 💚🫶🏽

Last night’s Annual King and Queen presentation was nothing short of amazing! After presenting the Kings and Queens we were given an opportunity to crown Mrs. Lisa Ward, South Waco’s Final Queen, as she enters retirement after 35 years at South Waco Elementary. Thank you to everyone who showed up to help, dressed to impress, and to have a good time! As South Waco enters a new chapter next year, we may not see another event like this here at South Waco, so this was really a night to remember! 💚

Just a reminder! 5th grade promotion is Tuesday May 19th from 9-10 am. Doors open at 8:45!

The Scholastic Book Fair is HERE! Students can shop the book fair during school hours starting Tuesday, May 12- Friday, May 15th. The book fair will be open to families during the King and Queen dance on Thursday, May 14th!

GLOW DAY! In art students are using glow-in-the-dark paint to make amazing paintings! They did an incredible job and had a lot of fun!

✨💃 Father Daughter Dance at South Waco Elementary 💃✨

What a magical evening we shared at our Father Daughter Dance! The smiles, laughter, and special moments created will truly be memories our students will cherish for years to come. 💕

We want to give a heartfelt thank you to all of the amazing staff who worked so hard behind the scenes to make this event such a success. Your time, effort, and dedication did not go unnoticed!

A very special and HUGE thank you goes out to Ms. Johnson for planning and organizing such a beautiful event. Your vision and hard work brought everything together perfectly, and we are so grateful for you! 🌟

Lastly, thank you to all of the wonderful parents and father figures who showed up to make their daughters’ night so incredibly special. Your presence meant the world to them and made the night unforgettable. 💖
