Check out the "old" and "new" in TSTC's Instrumentation Technology program at the campus. The program recently began using 10 new portable control valves for students to use in lab sessions. The control valves replace equipment that has been used by students as far back as the early 1980s, according to program faculty members.

Texas Commission on Fire Protection (TCFP):
State law requires fire protection personnel to be certified by the commission. Exams include Aircraft Rescue Firefighter, Basic Fire Inspector, Basic Wildland Firefighter, Fire Officer, Firefighter, Hazardous Materials Awareness, Inspector, Instructor, and Plan Examiner.

Texas Commission on Environmental Quality:
TCEQ is the environmental agency for the state of Texas and offers computer-based testing for occupational licenses such as Groundwater Operator, Landscape Irrigation Technician, Surface Water Operator, and Wastewater Operator.

In an effort to help fill the nearly 1,800 vocational nursing job openings in the state, TSTC has extended the deadline to submit applications for its Vocational Nursing cohort scheduled to begin in January.
