Congratulations to Jaxon Bowens on earning 1st place with his yarn painting at the WISD end of year art show! 👏🏻

Congratulations to all of our LAMM students whose artwork was featured in the WISD Art Show this evening! We have some of the most talented and hardworking artists in the district.

A special shout-out to the following students:

Jaxon Bowens, who received 1st place in the middle school division!

Reign Ward, Julissa Rosales, Emsley Yasko, Elizabeth Rojas, and Paola Gonzalez, who each received honorable mentions in their divisions.

Congratulations to our exceptionally talented leopards who showed up and showed out last night at the Spotlight Talent Show! What a fun evening of singing, music, dancing, painting, comedy, and so much more!

Major props and thanks to Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Markwardt who poured so much time and love into putting this show together and making sure all participating students shined! We are so lucky to have them!

Mrs. Davis, Mrs. Markwardt and our 3rd through 8th grade students are hard at work rehearsing for tomorrow night’s Spotlight Talent Show! Make sure you come out to University High School tomorrow at 6pm to see some spectacular acts!

On Saturday morning 6th, 7th, and 8th grade band students attended Solo and Ensemble! They worked hard and earned a total of 54 1st Division and 29 2nd Division ribbons!

The following students also received an Outstanding Musician Award for solos the judges thought stood out!

It was a fantastic day for Emsley Yasko, Ty’Rhiana Benjamin, and Rachel Kersh who each received a gold medal for earning a 4 (out of a possible 4) rating at Jr. VASE! A big congratulations to them and all the WISD Jr. VASE participants!

Rachel, Emsley, and Ty’Rhiana are on their way to the Jr. VASE competition in Killeen! We made a quick stop for breakfast and now it’s back on the road. Wish them luck in their interviews as they present their art to the jurors!

Our Middle School choir students participated in UIL Concert and Sight Reading Contest today! Both groups received excellent ratings! We are so proud of their hard work, and dedication!

Middle school artists are hard at work on the Glow in the Dark Pop Art Gallery this morning! Make sure you stop by tonight and walk the halls to see the amazing art students have been working hard on all semester! Our fourth and fifth graders had a wonderful time at the 80th annual Baylor Symphony Children’s Concert yesterday! It was a beautiful and lively concert. One of our fourth graders, Chrystianna Harper-Ramirez was even chosen to go up and conduct the orchestra! We so appreciate everyone who helps make these trips possible and especially our parent volunteers.
