Cooper is an outstanding young man, very wonderful to coach. Although this honor is well deserved, the real honor came with having Cooper as a member of our team, as his team inspiring attitude was contagious!

Streak ends in Lena, 14-38. Rebels finish their amazing season 10-1!

Although the Rebels' rise to the top was halted at the hands of the Titans last night, this season will be remembered as one of the most productive seasons in the 35+ year history of the program. Dreams were fulfilled as records were shattered during their steady rise to the top.

A state crown was what we fought for, lasting glory is what we achieved.

Football Recap: Wabeno/Laona Takes Down Valley Christian in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Wabeno/Laona rose to the challenge on Friday. They surged past the Valley Christian Warriors overcoming a 14 point 1st quarter deficit with points to spare, taking the game 28-14. The Rebels' team hasn't lost yet this season.

Cooper Albrecht produced another solid performance rushing for 126 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 190 yards and one TD. He is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last four games he's played.

Wabeno/Laona didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Reegan Roy and Boone Vanooyen.

Wabeno/Laona's record is now 10-0. As for Valley Christian, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-2.

Looking ahead, Wabeno/Laona will square off against Lena/Aquinas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday in Lena. The Titians' defense has only allowed 4.4 points per game this season, so the Rebels' offense will have their work cut out for them. Valley Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.

Rebels top the Warriors 28-14, advancing to round 3. After giving up 14 points in the 1st quarter, the Rebels scored 28 unanswered points, dismantling the Warriors' game plan and sending them home with an end to their season!

The Valley Christian Warriors hit Rebel field tonight, poised and polished, they went on to quickly score the first 14 points of the game. The Rebels came to fight, and scored the next 28 points, sending the Warriors home down & out! What a great comeback effort and win for our Rebels! Final 28-14. The Rebels travel to Lena on Friday to battle the Wildcats.

Football Game Preview: Wabeno/Laona Rebels vs. Valley Christian Warriors!

The Wabeno/Laona Rebels will take on the Valley Christian Warriors on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Wabeno/Laona is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. Their defense stepped up to hand Three Lakes a 42-0 shutout. The Rebels haven't had any issues with the Bluejays recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Walker Winkelman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 202 yards and three TDs while picking up 11.2 yards per carry. Cooper Albrecht was another major influence, as he rushed for 59 yards and ran in a TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Wabeno/Laona was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 346 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Wabeno/Laona's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Marshal Smith, Brody Hoffman, and Ryder Cronauer, who each picked up one sack apiece.
