Rosemaling Scandinavian Folk Art
Rosemaling provides much artistic enhancement in Nowegian homes.
Designs are often of flowers, trees, birds, animals and hearts, with scrolling feather-like brush strokes in the words if painted on signs.
Nixon Room downstairs at the foot of the stairs from Circle Drive lobby.

Wabash FAME Festival is this Saturday at Honeywell Center. We hope you will come appreciate the student performances and art displays created by our talented students.Come learn about Scandinavian art and folklore as we weave these into our programming.

The FAME Festival is a wonderful event to promote the arts in education by recognizing and displaying what Wabash area students have created and accomplished during the school year. Come listen to, and view the art and music presentations. You will be glad you did!!!

We look forward to Wabash's FAME Festival this Saturday. MARCH 18 from 9:00 to 4:00 at Honeywell Center.

Our closing Spotlight Concert will be in Ford Theater at 3:00. The Stage Band from Wabash Community Band will provide a variety of Stage Band repertoire. They will include area high school Stage Band members who participate in a workshop from 1:30 to 2:30.

Wabash Valley Dance Theatre's Company dancers, led by Lisa Mattern-Billings, will perform a Greek Sirtaki dance, sometimes called a Zorba dance.

Andrea Lanham from Playhouse Studio of Dance will lead dancers from Wabash Area Community Theater in performing a Hopa, Hopa dance.

Winning poster design artists will be recognized. They are:

We are offering art workshops with 3 guest visual artists this Saturday. Jeanie Cooper will be leading a project making a Martisor good luck symbol on the traditional red and white cord (yarn) as found in Romania. 30-minute workshops begin at 9:30, 10:30, 11:30, 1:30 and 2:15

Artist Susan Stewart will conduct four 40-minute workshops for painting colorful Bosnian style bowls. Session times are 9:00, 10:15, 12:15 and 1:45.

Darcy Dyson will instruct students in decorating Greek-design clay mini flowerpots
The 30-minute workshops begin at 9:15, 10:00. 11:00, 12:45 and 1:45.

All workshops are free of charge.
