What: Bring a dish to share and learn more about Suzuki School of Newton’s offerings. Live, musical performances starting at 5:15 pm from our students.

Dr. Steffi Tetzloff is a trumpet performer and educator with degrees from Oklahoma State University (BM), The Hartt School (MM), and James Madison University (DMA). She completed her Suzuki trumpet teacher training with Ann-Marie Sundberg, who pioneered the application of the Suzuki Method to brass instruments. Steffi is currently the inaugural International Trumpet Guild Emerging Artist Fellow, conducting research at Boston University on effective strategies for teaching trumpet to neurodivergent students.

Story time with special guest, Alizeh N. Tahir, at Suzuki School of Newton’s PreSchool📚
Alizeh has two children’s books that make disability experiences personal, relatable, and inspirational. She is the Founder and Director of M-Powerable, a volunteer-led startup dedicated to helping children with disabilities discover their strengths, build confidence, and pursue their dreams.

Alizeh and her composer/musician sibling: Ziyad, both had gotten their musical start and was honored at the invitation to come back and share her story with current students.

🏫✨ Renovate to Elevate!

Beginning July 2026, the Suzuki School of Newton will temporarily relocate while our historic Waban campus undergoes renovation and expansion.

After more than five years of thoughtful planning, we are thrilled to move forward with this exciting project, which will not only renew and expand our beloved campus, but also make the historic Waban farmhouse fully accessible to all through the addition of an elevator and accessibility improvements.

We are excited to continue our programs in a wonderful temporary home just minutes away — a former school building that will provide welcoming spaces for learning, creativity, and music-making throughout this exciting transition.

🎹 Meet Teacher Trainer Blancamaria Montecinos

Blancamaria Montecinos brings decades of international Suzuki teaching and leadership experience to Suzuki by the Green 2026.

Founder of Suzuki Music School Chile and former president of the Suzuki Association of Chile, Blancamaria has trained teachers and presented workshops throughout Latin America and the United States.

Her teachings of the Suzuki method and philosophy are bolstered with rich experiences in Kodály, Dalcroze, and jazz education.

This summer she will teach:
