Unlike traditional substitute positions, these roles report to work every scheduled student attendance day and provide a consistent schedule. Positions are available at the elementary and middle/high school campuses.

School's out, but open swim is on!

Open swim is available this summer at the Clayton A. Bouton High School pool from 1 - 3 p.m. Monday - Thursday through August 6.

Please enter through the school's athletics entrance for open swim.

The cost is $2 for adults and $1 for children per session. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult while on school premises.

Swim lesson sessions continue at Voorheesville CSD, with programs for beginners and advancing swimmers alike. Students can build lifelong skills through Learn-to-Swim, pre-competitive swim and dive clinics. Classes are open to the public and run Monday through Thursday.

A fresh start is on the horizon for the Blackbird Paradise Garden.

While the garden has been an important learning space since 2009, many of its features now require significant repair. With VCSD Board of Education approval, plans are moving forward to create a welcoming outdoor classroom filled with perennial blooms, bird habitats and space for students to gather, observe and continue to learn.

The project reflects a true community effort. Funding will come from PTA support. Elemental Landscapes is donating demolition services and providing donated and discounted labor for installation. Cornell Cooperative Extension and the Helderview Garden Club are also lending expertise and support.

It was a year filled with learning, laughter and discovery! Our young learners spent the year making new friends and building new skills. We are proud to celebrate our kindergarten graduates and all they have accomplished.

One Day, Many Legends!

Character Day helped seventh graders view history from a more personal perspective. Dressed as historical figures, students delivered speeches that highlighted the accomplishments and challenges of famous leaders and influential trailblazers. The project combined research, creativity and public speaking, encouraging students to consider the people who helped shape the world around us.

A season for the record books ended with a strong showing at the New York State Championships!

The 4x800 relay team of Avery G., Shayla H., Alannah M., and Savannah S. raced to a fourth-place finish in Class C and lowered their own school record to 9:30. Avery G. earned third place in the 1,500 and fifth place in the 800, while Mason C. finished fifth in the 3,200 with a personal record. Savannah S. has an eighth-place finish in the 1,500. We’re so proud of all six athletes for representing Voorheesville!
