🦎 Closing Out September with our triple horned Rhino!

Nothing crazy happening today, we just figured your feed could use a Rhinoceros Iguana. 😎

Rhinoceros Iguanas get their name from the horn-like scales on their snout, giving them that prehistoric look we absolutely love! Native to the Caribbean, these impressive iguanas are powerful, intelligent, and definitely one of the coolest reptiles to meet up close.

🐢 ARE TORTOISES ACTUALLY TURTLES?
Technically… YES!

Scientifically, all tortoises belong to the order Testudines, meaning:

All tortoises are turtles but not all turtles are tortoises.

But here at Scale World Order, we still think there’s a good reason to distinguish between the two!

🌵 TORTOISES are primarily land-dwellers. They typically have thick, sturdy, elephant-like legs and heavily domed shells adapted for life on land.

💧 TURTLES include species adapted to freshwater, wetlands, rivers, lakes, and oceans. Many have flatter or more streamlined shells and feet adapted for swimming.

Compare one of our 40-pound Sulcata tortoises walking across dry land to our aquatic Fly River turtle cruising through the water, and the difference becomes pretty obvious!

So yes, if someone tells you a tortoise is technically a turtle, they're scientifically correct.
But “tortoise” isn't just another word for turtle. Tortoises represent a highly terrestrial branch of the turtle family tree with their own specialized adaptations.

Same order. Different lifestyles. Both incredible reptiles. 🐢🌎

🐍🌴 BEWARE BOIÚNA 🌴🐍
Giant snake fans, this one is for us.

BEWARE BOIÚNA is bringing giant-serpent horror back to the big screen, taking audiences deep into the Amazon rainforest where an expedition discovers that some legends are better left undisturbed.

Inspired by the legendary Boiúna of Amazonian folklore, the film unleashes a colossal serpent upon a group fighting to survive deep within its territory.

This isn’t just another snake in the jungle the Boiúna is rooted in stories of an enormous, supernatural serpent associated with the rivers and waterways of the Amazon.

And seriously… where are our 1997 ANACONDA fans at?! If you remember watching Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube and Jon Voight head into the Amazon back in 1997, there’s something incredibly nostalgic about seeing a giant snake stalking people through the jungle on the big screen again nearly 30 years later.

The Boiúna may come from legend, but the animals that inspired mankind’s fascination with giant serpents are VERY real.
