We have a STATE WINNER. I am excited to share that Emerson Gustafson, a soon-to-be third grader, from Sioux Valley Elementary is one of six winners of the State Fair Science of Reading Drawing Contest!

This is what Emerson’s mother shared about her drawing:

“She included the word dyslexia along with reading comprehension, fluency, phonological awareness, and vocabulary in her flower to show others you can still learn to read even with dyslexia. What great perspective!”

Credits to Mrs. Bezdichek, our Title I Reading interventionist, for encouraging Emerson to participate.

SVE town families: Did you know there is a sidewalk for your children to use on the east side of Volga to get to school safely? It begins at 3rd & Adams and extends to Jefferson. Use for any walk or run. Check it out.
