It’s a big week at CKA Vista!

BATTLE BUDDY WEEK
Students are invited to bring their friends to class and share the CKA experience with them. Please make sure every Battle Buddy is accompanied by their guardian & pre-registered on our Google Sheet so we know they’re coming.

ADVANCED TRAINING CAMP
August 3–7
9:00 AM–3:00 PM

Our advanced students are in for five full days of focused training, challenging material, weapons work, and serious progress.

Ms. Minami has officially survived the battle of the Summer Camps! ⚔️

Our Karate Fun Camps are now complete for the summer, and she made it through the chaos, the games, the drills, and all the kid energy like a true warrior.

We have just one final camp remaining:

We’re honored to share that California Karate Academy has been voted the 2026 Silver Award recipient for Best Martial Arts School in the Best of North County Awards. 🥈

This recognition belongs to every member of our CKA family.

Thank you to our students for your hard work, our parents for your trust, our instructors for their dedication, and everyone who took the time to vote for us.

For more than just teaching martial arts, our mission has always been to help people build confidence, discipline, resilience, and character. Knowing our community believes in that mission means more than any award ever could.

From all of us at California Karate Academy, thank you. We couldn’t have done it without you, and we’re excited to continue serving North County for many years to come.

Summer Camp Starts Tomorrow! ☀️🥋

The countdown is over. Our Karate Fun Summer Camp kicks off tomorrow at 9:00 AM at our Vista Dojang, and our team is ready for an incredible week of martial arts, games, leadership activities, outdoor fun, and new friendships.

To make sure we’re fully prepared, our adult staff and camp team just completed their CPR and First Aid certification training this weekend. The safety and well-being of every camper is a responsibility we take seriously, and we’re proud to head into camp refreshed, trained, and ready. (thank you Scott, Dan, & Matilda as well as Ms Minami for setting this up)

Thank you to all of the families who have entrusted us with your children this summer. We can’t wait to get started.

See you tomorrow at 9:00 AM!

Life in the nest has been a little chaotic lately.
One sibling almost fell off the ledge before breakfast. Another stole a feather. A third insists they are already ready to fly.

Nobody agrees on anything.

Fledge isn’t so sure about flying yet.

But watching four siblings turn a perfectly good nest into complete disorder has been excellent practice for staying calm.

And still those strange sounds drifted up from below today.
Thump.
Shuffle.
Tap.
Voices.
Doors opening. Doors closing.

Whatever was happening down there...it seemed much more organized than siblings.

Below, the little people in clothing of white & blue hurried into class.

Some looked confident.

Some looked nervous.

Fledge noticed that courage and fear sometimes arrive together.
