Big news! We’re thrilled to welcome our newest Board Member — Dr. Eric Chagala, a dedicated champion for youth development, a trusted partner in our school district, and a long-time supporter of the Boys & Girls Club of Vista. His leadership and commitment to strengthening opportunities for young people will help us expand the programs and services that support Vista kids and families when school is out.

Would you like to become a Substitute Teacher but need some guidance? SDCOE Substitute Teacher Training gives substitutes useful information, classroom resources, and ideas. The cost is $50 and includes the substitute teacher manual and materials, classroom resources, and ideas you can use tomorrow!

Congratulations to our Mission Vista High School teachers and staff for receiving the California Distinguished School Award for 2026. Only 408 schools (out of nearly 10,000) in California received this prestigious award.

Mission Vista High School was recognized for the category of “Achievement Gap Closer: Schools that are accelerating academic progress for two or more groups that have been historically underserved, while also demonstrating achievement for all students that is above the state median and maintaining or increasing academic performance for all students.”
