💡 Teacher Tip Tuesday: Make Learning Visible! 👀
For many learners, especially students who benefit from additional structure and predictability, visuals can make a big difference in the classroom.
Visual supports can help students:
✨ Understand expectations
✨ Follow routines and schedules
✨ Make choices independently
✨ Understand what comes next
✨ Communicate their wants and needs
✨ Feel more confident and successful
A visual schedule, first/then board, choice board, classroom labels, or simple picture cue can turn a verbal direction into something a student can see, understand, and act on.
And this is where functional routines can be especially helpful! When we pair everyday routines with consistent visual supports, we give students opportunities to practice skills in meaningful, predictable contexts.
