πŸ’‘ Teacher Tip Tuesday: Make Learning Visible! πŸ‘€

For many learners, especially students who benefit from additional structure and predictability, visuals can make a big difference in the classroom.

Visual supports can help students:
✨ Understand expectations
✨ Follow routines and schedules
✨ Make choices independently
✨ Understand what comes next
✨ Communicate their wants and needs
✨ Feel more confident and successful

A visual schedule, first/then board, choice board, classroom labels, or simple picture cue can turn a verbal direction into something a student can see, understand, and act on.

And this is where functional routines can be especially helpful! When we pair everyday routines with consistent visual supports, we give students opportunities to practice skills in meaningful, predictable contexts. ARIS includes lessons and tools that can support functional routines, visual supports, sequencing, and independence, helping educators create structure that students can use throughout their day. πŸ’™πŸ’š

πŸ‘‰ Try this: Choose one routine in your classroom this week and ask yourself, β€œCould I make this visual?”

Sometimes a small visual support can make a BIG difference! 🌟

✨ Staff Spotlight: Meet Michelle! ✨

This week, we’re shining the spotlight on Michelle, our Director of Learning Services! πŸ’™πŸ’š

Michelle brings creativity, passion, and a love of learning to everything she does at Stages Learning.

One of her favorite ARIS activities is Lesson #8: Non-Verbal Imitation, a lesson she loves because there are so many ways to teach, learn, and have fun with it!

We also loved hearing about Michelle’s journey into education. Inspired by her incredible teacher mom, Michelle found her way into autism education after working as a therapist and teaching English abroad, and we’re so glad she did! ❀️

When asked to describe herself in one word, Michelle chose β€œcreative,” and we couldn’t agree more!

Join us in celebrating Michelle and all the creativity and heart she brings to the Stages Learning team! 🌟

✨ FLASHBACK FRIDAY! ✨

This week we're taking a trip down memory lane with Cindy! πŸ’™

🍎 Teacher Tip Tuesday

The first few weeks of school set the tone for the entire year, and sometimes the most effective strategy is also the simplest.

✨ Start with one small win.

Instead of trying to teach everything at once, focus on one foundational skill your students are ready to master. When students experience success early, they build confidence, stay engaged, and are more willing to take on new challenges.

With ARIS, assessment data helps you identify each student's starting point so you can deliver individualized instruction that meets them where they are. Every learner's journey is different, and every small step forward is worth celebrating.

πŸ’š Remember: Small steps today lead to big growth tomorrow.

How do you help your students build confidence during the first weeks of school?
Share your favorite strategy in the comments, we'd love to hear it!

🍎 A new school year is full of fresh possibilities, and a little preparation goes a long way.

As you're getting your classroom ready, remember that successful teaching isn't about having everything perfect on day one. It's about creating an environment where every student has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

As you prepare for the year ahead, don't forget to:

βœ”οΈ Organize your classroom
βœ”οΈ Prepare visual supports
βœ”οΈ Set up student data
βœ”οΈ Establish meaningful routines

Most importantly...

πŸ’š Remember: You don't have to do it alone.

At Stages Learning, we're committed to providing educators with the tools, resources, and support they need to meet the unique needs of every learner; because when teachers feel supported, students succeed.

Here's to a school year filled with growth, confidence, and countless student successes. We're cheering you on every step of the way!

✨ Flashback Friday! ✨

This week we're taking a trip down memory lane with Megan, our Director of Customer Success! πŸ’™

Before she was helping schools and educators succeed, Megan dreamed of becoming a teacher... or owning a bed & breakfast (we're looking at you, Dawson's Creek! πŸ˜‰).

πŸ“š Her childhood bookshelf was stacked with favorites like Mandy, The Giver, Ella Enchanted, Harry Potter, and Strega Nona.

πŸ₯£ And one thing that hasn't changed? Her favorite comfort food is still her mom's mashed potatoes and gravy. ❀️

If her younger self could be summed up in just three words, they'd be:
✨ Determined
✨ Headstrong
✨ Adventurous

Those qualities continue to shine through every day as she supports our customers and helps make a difference for educators and students across the country.
