🐣 Our rooster, Ziggy, meeting Snowball’s chicks for the first time. Snowball got defensive, puffed up and spread her wings to keep him away from the chicks. But our loving Ziggy immediately made them a food offering and within minutes they became one big happy family. It was really neat for the kids to witness and observe the various chicken behaviors that took place during the chick introduction 🐥 🐥 🐓

Hi everyone! 🌿🐄
I wanted to share a quick peek at our Farm & Nature Exploration program, which starts next week. We spend our weeks learning outdoors, caring for animals, and following the rhythms of the seasons.
One especially exciting update this semester: baby cows! The museum now has four baby cows, and the kids will get to help care for them and learn about their daily routines. We’ll also be raising baby chicks, which is always a favorite.
Winter and spring are such special times at the museum—everything turns green, the great horned owls return to nest in the barn (their fluffy chicks look like little muppets!), and we start finding tadpoles, frogs, crawdads and other creek life. We’ll also be planting a spring garden, watching the giant mulberry tree come to life, and later in the season harvesting mulberries and baking a pie in the antique wood-fired oven. On cold, wet days, we warm up with bonfires and cozy outdoor time.
If it sounds like a good fit for your family, feel free to message me with questions. Spaces are limited, and registration is happening now.

🌱✨ Winter/Spring Registration Is Almost Here! ✨🌱
I’m excited to announce that priority registration is now open for currently enrolled families, and general registration opens December 1st! If your child has joined us in the past, we’d love to have them back this semester. 💛
🌿 New Name, Same Program!
Our Farm & Homestead Program is getting a small upgrade — it will now be called the Farm & Nature Exploration Program!
Nothing big is changing; the new name simply reflects all the nature exploration we already do each week.
Spanish Program Updates
This semester, our Spanish program will continue building on everything we’ve learned while diving into new material.
New students are welcome, but some Spanish experience is required since the group has already covered a lot.
If you’re interested in joining mid-year, send me a message so we can chat about what we’ve covered and the best way to get your child up to speed.
Looking forward to another beautiful season of learning, exploring, and growing together! 🌾🧡
Feel free to reach out with any questions!
