What a great way to end the school year with an unforgettable field trip! MANA, Encuentros, and Hermanitas came together for a day filled with learning, culture, connection, and community at Chicano Park and the Museum of Us.
Students had the opportunity to learn about the rich history of the Chicano community, explore the powerful stories behind the murals, and see how art can preserve culture, inspire change, and bring people together. It was amazing to watch our students engage in meaningful conversations, ask thoughtful questions, and proudly connect with their roots and community.
Experiences like these remind us of the importance of unity, representation, and learning beyond the classroom. Thank you to everyone who helped make this trip possible and memorable for our students. β€οΈ

π¨ Congratulations to our Middle School Artist of the Month, Isabella Likens!
From Ms. Bohan: Isabella is kind and helpful to everyone around her, whether supporting students who need guidance or offering feedback to fellow artists. What sets her apart is her openness and willingness to try; she listens to constructive criticism without defensiveness and uses it to grow as an artist.
Most importantly, she actively contributes to a positive studio environment where everyone feels welcome and valued. Isabella has mad art skills and has grown so much as an artist this year!
Congratulations, Isabella, on this well-deserved recognition! β¨οΈ

Middle School AVID Explores the University of San Diego!
Last week, our Middle School AVID students hit the road to visit the University of San Diego (USD). Before stepping foot on campus, students geared up by diving into a research guide to explore USDβs unique majors and academic programs.
Once on campus, they took in the stunning architecture and beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean. College visits are a core part of the AVID experience, helping students visualize their future goals and truly see themselves on a college campus.
Thank you to Ms. Hernandez, Ms. Smith, Ms. Yesenia, Ms. Connie, Coach Oscar & Coach Nick for chaperoning!
