Rain cancelled the final game of Coach Allen's 32 year career. Thanks to Fresno City for the classy display of recognition with a bat presentation and acknowledgement by each of the FCC players. COS coaching staff and players didn't let the rainy weather keep them from taking the time to show their appreciation for the end of Coach Allen's amazing career.

Thank you Jim Escalle for sharing the photos of his father Bob (1950) and Uncle Jim’s (1948) who both played at COS. Jim also sent the team pic from the 1948 Visalia Junior College (COS) yearbook. Hs uncle, Jim Escalle, played second base for the team. The other photo shows his dad, Bob Escalle, out in the field in 1950. He was a pitcher. This was the season before Roy Taylor became coach. Bob Escalle, was a pitcher with the College of the Sequoias baseball team in 1950. He was awarded Athlete of the Year (football and baseball) by the campus newspaper. His coach, Roy Taylor, wanted his dad to play baseball again in the 1951 season, said he had the potential to play professionally, but my dad had other plans.
Thanks Jim for sharing.
