5/21/25 Recently, we've heard from several families looking for summer riding lessons. We offer week-long Horse & Reader summer camps, 8:30 to 11:30, M-F during June and July, but no separate riding lessons during the summer. Kids work with horses/ride every day during summer camp. They also participate in reading and multi-subject centers. We have several openings left in our camps. Contact Buzz at (559) 308-2128 or [email protected] for more info and to enroll.

If you're interested in riding only, we recommend contacting Marily Reese at Sequoia Hills Stables, 559- 747-8773. Marily offers a summer camp with horse-handling and riding.

Yesterday (5/3), just as our morning class ended, I noticed a message from a grandmom looking for therapeutic riding for her granddaughter. I’ve searched and searched and can no longer find that message. I’m going to attempt to respond anyhow, hoping that the sender sees this message.

While we consider all interaction with horses therapeutic, and we so appreciate recommendation of our programs, another local provider of programs, Happy Trails, might be the better choice. They offer both physical and psychological therapy with horses.

We will be launching Horse & Reader summer camps on June 10th. These are week-long, every weekday morning, 8:30-11:30 experiences that include riding, reading, and multisubject centers, as well as journal writing. I respond to students’ journals daily.

We don’t offer private riding lessons during the summer, since our instructors and horses need breaks on the weekends.

Our regular, once-per-week, school-year Horse & Reader classes will resume in September.

vaccinations PRIOR to bringing to the event so
