🧠💚 Introducing: Mind Patrol- The Youth’s Guide to Mental Health

Every day, our deputies patrol neighborhoods, schools, and streets — but we also recognize the importance of something deeper: patrolling the mind.

Mind Patrol was created by the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office to bring awareness, understanding, and hope to the conversation surrounding mental health, especially in the youth.

Because the truth is, we all face battles no one else can see. Whether it’s stress, pressure, or the weight of life’s challenges, your mental health matters just as much as your physical safety.

Through this campaign, our goal is simple:

💚 To remind the youth in our community that it’s okay not to be okay
💚 To encourage open conversations and end stigma
💚 To provide resources, support, and connection
💚 To remind you — you are never alone

We’ll be visiting schools, community events, and youth programs throughout the county to share Mind Patrol pamphlets, interactive activities, and words of encouragement. Because protecting our community means protecting every part of it, including your mental and emotional well-being.

You patrol your hallways, your friendships, and your daily life.Let’s make sure you’re also patrolling your thoughts. 💚

I have spent HOURS with Devin Glen Stout of Exeter Gunslingers while he and I research the nearly nonexistent class options for non POST (retired or current law enforcement trained) CCW instructors to become compliant with the new DOJ requirements (that they can’t even explain to us) so we can reapply to teach CCW classes even though we have taught for years and are highly trained by several firearm organizations.

Riverside county has training but you have to be recommended by your Sheriff or Police Agency to go, and they only take two from an outside agency at a time. This has not been addressed in our area even though it has been presented to several people.

There is a very expensive school down South that gives the class, which you also need to pay for room, food and travel while you are gone.

A huge thank you to the USCCA and our local rep Mike (he is the one you have met during my ccw classes) for working so hard to get a class for us and the USCCA is covering the cost. They will be the main reason that instructors like me will be up and running very soon!

Two instructors in the area that meet the qualifications for being able to teach now and are able to give us the DOJ instructor class, both offered to do it. Thank you Jesus Gallardo and Todd Cotta. They both are about continuing to have a large network of instructors available for people to chose from and working to protect our 2 amendment right to carry firearms.

Continue to support organizations that are pushing back on SB2! I know the CCW requirements are double in time now and more expensive, also we keep ping ponging back and forth as to having more sensitive areas we can’t carry in and then we can carry as before, it’s frustrating, and can be confusing at times. But don’t roll over like they want you to and not continue to apply for and renew your CCW. Push back so we don’t end up getting stripped of our rights as gun owners.
