🍁 A Day of History and Hands-On Learning! 🇺🇸

Our 6th grade students enjoyed a beautiful fall day on Friday, October 9th, at Norskedalen’s Civil War Education Day! Students rotated through various learning stations to explore soldier life, photography, Civil War flags, and many other fascinating aspects of this important time in American history.

It was a wonderful hands-on learning experience that brought history to life! 📚
The learning continues back at school as students prepare to study primary sources before participating in a virtual learning session with a Gettysburg National Military Park Ranger on Tuesday, October 20th.

What a great way to connect classroom learning with history! 🍁

On Tuesday, November 3, our community will vote on a nonrecurring operational referendum. 🗳️

If this measure receives support of at least 50%, VAS will have the authority to exceed the state-imposed revenue limit by $1.8 million annually over four years, beginning in 2027-28. The request is for an additional $500,000 beyond the existing operational referendum, which will expire in June.

Find answers to FAQs and more information about the proposed referendum at https://www.vasreferendum.org.

To kick off the school year, VES and VAMS K–4th grade students celebrated International Dot Day in art class! 🎨

After reading The Dot, our young artists used their incredible creativity to design their very own unique dots for our school-wide collaborative mural.

They are officially ready to “make their mark” this year in Art! ✨
