Our members have been out supporting our school and community- helping with the 109 Comstock Ladies BBQ, Back to School Night, the new school's Topping Out Ceremony, a dog supply drive for our local animal control, lunch with the Superintendent and Sheriff's Night Out in Lockwood.

NHS member Derek McCoy also started VCHS Athletics on Instagram and Facebook which is a great way to stay connected with all things Mucker Sports.

The VFW Stride While You Walk/Run fundraiser, a National Honor Society project, was a great success! Jaslyn Scott was honored to present a check on Saturday for $1,800 to VFW Post 8071 in support of their new building project. NHS is proud to give back to our local veterans and help make a difference in our community. Thank you to everyone who supported this effort.

NHS members, Jaslyn Scott and Anna Loesche would like to thank everyone who helped make the Salute While You Stride VFW fundraiser a success. All proceeds raised will go toward the new VFW Evans-Kendall Post 8071 building on "C" street. Jaslyn and Anna would especially like to thank the following individuals and organizations for their part in making this fundraiser successful: Outlaws VCMC, Bucket of Blood Saloon, Palace Restaurant, Rope Em In Lounge and Boutique, SFC Steven Harbert, Ret., Storey County Police and Fire, the Standish Family, the Walling Family, the members of the Evans-Kendall Post 8071 and of course the runners & walkers who participated.

I'm sure you guys have heard about the "L" Project that happened recently in Lockwood through NHS. It was a great success and wouldn't have been possible without the help of our awesome community and we would like to give a few shoutouts. Firstly, a huge thank you to C***s Construction for their huge help and making this project possible. Also, the Storey County Fire Department and Sheriff Cullen for volunteering their time to make this project go so smoothly. Anne Langer and Pittsburgh Paints for their generous donations that supplied us with everything we needed. Stacy York for leading and coordinating the project. And of course, the Lockwood community for coming out and making it come to life! Thank you guys so much for always supporting the National Honor Society!

A huge shoutout to Chris Barton and the Storey County Fire Protection District Wild Land crew Bryce Boyer, Nate White and Joe Lescher for their huge contribution to our "L" project. Thanks to their amazing time and effort we will be placing an "L" on the hill behind Hillside Elementary on May 16th. They cleared the area for this project and we couldn't be more thankful. We love our community partners.
