Happy Nurse’s Week to our fabulous Hermitage Elementary school nurse, Mrs. Pedigo! 💙🩺

Mrs. Pedigo cares for our students each and every day with kindness, patience, and a calming presence. From bumps and bruises to encouraging words and helping hands, she does so much to keep our school healthy and safe.

To show our appreciation, classes throughout the school created special posters and messages just for her.

April was a whirlwind of excitement at Hermitage Elementary!

We had a special visit from the fire department, where students learned important fire safety tips and had the chance to explore the fire truck up close. 🚒

Our school was full of spirit during Red, White, and Blue Day, and we proudly wore purple for Purple Up Day to honor and support our military-connected students. 💜

We wrapped up the month with an incredible Field Day—full of energy, teamwork, and smiles! A huge thank you to our 80+ amazing volunteers who made the day such a success. We couldn’t have done it without you!

What a fantastic month of learning, community, and fun at Hermitage! 🎉

Our 3rd graders had a fun and exciting in-house field trip with The Mariners’ Museum! 🌍✨

Students explored the fascinating worlds of five ancient civilizations—China, Greece, Rome, Mali, and Egypt—through engaging discussions and interactive learning.

It was a wonderful opportunity to bring history to life and spark curiosity in new and meaningful ways. Thank you to The Mariners’ Museum for an enriching experience right here at Hermitage !

Our Girls Who Code club has been hard at work exploring the world of computer science through engaging, hands-on stations! 💻✨

Students rotated through Coding Puzzles with DASH, challenged themselves with Unplugged Debugging activities, and even cracked secret messages while exploring Caesar Ciphers from Code It! Create It! 🔐

It’s amazing to see our students thinking critically, collaborating, and building confidence as young coders. The future is bright with these Viking Coders leading the way! 🌊

🤖⚙️ Our Robotics Team had a great time at the VB Schools STEM Trifecta in February.

Students spent the day exploring, building, and learning while celebrating all things Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.

Our students had a blast representing our school and learning new ideas to bring back to our robotics program. We are so proud of their enthusiasm, teamwork, and love of innovation! 🚀

What a fun day promoting STEM and inspiring the problem-solvers and creators of tomorrow! 💡
