We’re thrilled to welcome the dynamic and passionate Clay Morrison to Heatwave staff this summer!

Clay will be joining us as an instructor and judge, bringing his signature energy, unmistakable style, and deep love for Country Swing and Progressive to the Heatwave floor.

Recently, Clay has also launched the Dance Blueprint page—an exciting new project dedicated to breaking down dance styles and exploring the structural differences between them. It’s been a huge step in his continued mission to dive deeper into how and why movement works, and to share that knowledge with dancers in a clear, accessible way.

From bar competitions to growing his presence across both the WSDC and UCWDC circuits, Clay has continually evolved as a dancer while sharpening his craft and expanding his impact in the country dance community.

Known for his smooth, effortless Two Step and creative, eye-catching movement, Clay brings a presence that lights up any floor he steps on. His passion for teaching and sharing what he loves makes him an incredible addition to our Heatwave instructor and judging lineup.

We got the song in intermediate J&J finals at Westie Weekend and the vibes on the floor were immaculate. Absolute chaos, questionable choices, and the most committed musicality you’ve ever seen 😂

We’re so excited to have Ellis Permann joining us at Heatwave this summer 🔥

Known for her smooth movement, dynamic styling, and infectious energy on the dance floor, Ellis has made a name for herself across the country through both teaching and competition. Competing at the Advanced WSDC level, she brings a deep understanding of connection, creativity, and musical interpretation into every dance.

As both an instructor and creator in the Country Swing community, Ellis continues to inspire dancers everywhere with her passion for growth, education, and community.

We can’t wait for y’all to learn from her, dance with her, and experience everything she’s bringing to Heatwave this year 🤠

We’re thrilled to have David Saylors joining the team at Heatwave this July 30 ~ August 2 as both an instructor and judge for Country Swing!

David is known for his strong technical background and his ability to break down the “why” behind the dance, helping dancers truly understand movement, connection, and flow. His teaching style is clear, approachable, and grounded, making it easy for dancers at any level to grow, refine their skills, and feel more confident on the floor.

Having taught and performed across the country, David brings a depth of knowledge and a genuine passion for helping dancers improve ~ not just in their technique, but in how they connect and move with intention.

We’re excited to have him bring that energy to Heatwave this summer. Whether you’re in his workshops, booking a private, or just sharing a dance, you won’t want to miss the chance to learn from him.
