Same people. Same promise. Same land.

Two thousand years of exile, dispersion, and return — and yet the Jewish people remain, remarkably, the same people: the same names (Cohen, Levi), the same language reborn, the same Sabbath, the same Scriptures read week after week in synagogues across the globe. No nation in history has kept their identity through so many centuries without a homeland, and then returned to it. Just as the prophets foretold: “ I will gather them from all the countries...I will bring them back to this place, and I will make them dwell in safety.” (Jeremiah 32:37).

God made a covenant with Abraham’s descendants (Genesis 17:7-8). Thousands of years later, he’s still keeping it.

The connection between the Jewish people and the Land of Israel spans thousands of years, historically, culturally, and linguistically.

From ancient Scripture to modern Hebrew, the same continuity of people, land, and language remains one of the most remarkable stories in history.

A reminder to everyone that identity and place are two deeply intertwined things!

If you've been trying to make sense of everything happening in the Middle East — and frustrated by how one-sided or incomplete a lot of the coverage feels — Dr. Nolte's recent appearance on The 700 Club Israel is worth watching.

He covers a lot of ground: the often-overlooked relationship between Israel and Christians, how to distinguish between legitimate criticism of Israel and criticism that goes too far, the news stories that aren't telling the whole story (or the wrong story).

It's the kind of conversation that actually makes you think rather than just react. Check it out, share it with your friends, and let us know what you think in the comments.

In this episode, Dr. Nolte is joined by Michael Eglash, co-founder of Upstart Ideas, to discuss the unique legacy of Zionist youth movements and his experiences supporting pro-Israel campus activism.
