πŸš€ Another amazing week at CBA Summer Camp!

As we head into our final week, campers are continuing to grow academically, build friendships, and make lasting memories. This week's character trait was courage, and students practiced stepping outside their comfort zones, trying new things, and believing in themselves.

πŸ“š In the classroom:

Younger readers strengthened phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension through hands-on activities and interactive read-alouds.
Older students built decoding and reading comprehension skills while practicing writing and math concepts, including division and place value.

🌎 Afternoon fun included:

πŸ“ Creating edible solar systems during Tasty Buds Tuesday.
πŸŒ™ Exploring the phases of the moon with Oreo cookies.
πŸ’™ Reflecting on courage through the book I Am Courage, learning that bravery means trying, persevering, and believing in yourselfβ€”even when something feels hard.

We can't wait to finish the summer strong with one more week of learning, discovery, and fun! β˜€οΈπŸ“–βœ¨

Tips for Creating Smooth Transitions When You Struggle with Executive Functions - Executive Functioning Success 07/28/2026

Transitions can be one of the biggest challenges for children with executive functioning differences. Simple strategies like visual schedules, advance warnings, predictable routines, and breaking tasks into smaller steps can make a meaningful difference.

At CBA, we build these supports into every school day, helping students navigate transitions with greater confidence, less anxiety, and increasing independence.

CBA has been committed to advancing education for students with learning differences for decades. As a founding school of the Association of LD Schools (ALDS), we are proud to continue that legacy of leadership and collaboration.

This week, our new Head of School, Krishna Rasik Davda, is representing CBA at the ALDS Leadership Summit, where school leaders from across the country are sharing ideas, exploring emerging trends, and strengthening the collective impact of schools dedicated to helping students with learning differences thrive.

We look forward to bringing new insights and innovative thinking back to our community as we continue to evolve and strengthen the exceptional educational experience we provide for our students and families.

πŸ“šπŸ§ͺ Week 3 at CBA Summer Enrichment Camp!

Our campers strengthened reading, writing, and math skills through hands-on, engaging activities while building confidence every day. From decoding words and reading A Fish in a Tree to writing paragraphs, exploring fractions, and mastering multiplication strategies, learning was everywhere!

Afternoons were filled with discovery during Mad Scientist Week as campers built edible DNA models, created rain clouds, explored bacteria, designed science labs in MakerSpace, and practiced respectful communication through stories and teamwork.

Learning, creativity, and confidence continue to grow all summer long! πŸ’™βœ¨

One of the highlights of summer camp? Makerspace! πŸš€

Our campers love the opportunity to imagine, build, and create. From robotics and technology-based design to coding software, engineering challenges, and hands-on building activities, every project encourages creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, and fine motor development.

At Chesapeake Bay Academy, we believe in differentiation for the whole childβ€”not just academics. That's why our Summer Learning Program blends multisensory instruction in reading, writing, and math with engaging afternoon experiences that build confidence, curiosity, and real-world skills.

Unique learning needs? Prepare them to succeed. πŸ’™
