"I haven't found any of this on YouTube."

That's something I hear quite a lot from my students who purchased a drum set thinking that they could learn what they needed online.
While there may be exceptions to the rule, drumming content creators are focused on quick hits featuring a cool fill or groove, a product review, or play-along to a popular song. Consider this question. Do you really want to learn from someone who is entirely focused on content creation, while never playing in a band or working professionally? You may be surprised to find how many YouTube/TikTok stars have zero experience actually performing in the real world.
A real music education requires far more than bits of info here and there. You need a focused path of learning, collecting the skills that will help you master the instrument over time. Having a private instructor that can monitor your progress and coach you along the way is invaluable.

I went to see this with my brother last night. We really enjoyed it. The new mixes really showcase the incredible drumming of Ron Tutt, including some double bass chops that were buried in some previous live releases. Elvis gave Ron a freedom that most drummers are rarely granted. In turn, Ron gave the music an incredible energy that fueled the excitement of the arrangements.
Overall, the band was incredible from the players and vocalists to the string and horn arrangements. I recommend seeing it with theater audio. It's a lot of fun.

About Andrew Payne:

A native of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Andrew has been playing drums for over 35 years. He started playing professionally at the age of 16 and has been teaching music since 1987. He attended the Berklee College of Music, where he won two scholarships including a Buddy Rich award. Andrew went on to tour and become the Music Director for Grammy Award winning CCM artist Rebecca St. James. He also toured with Michael Sweet of Stryper fame. He has held product endorsements with Attack drum heads and Pro-Mark drumsticks.
