¡Feliz Mes de la Herencia Hispana, Eagles! 🦅
Each year, National Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15 through October 15, honoring the rich histories, cultures, traditions, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans whose roots reach across Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America, and South America.
The celebration began as Hispanic Heritage Week in 1968 and was expanded to a month-long observance in 1988. There’s also a reason the celebration begins in the middle of September: September 15 marks the anniversary of independence for Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua, followed by Mexico on September 16 and Chile on September 18.
