This prestigious honor celebrates schools that exemplify outstanding sportsmanship, ethical conduct, and integrity both in competition and throughout the school community. This recognition reflects the commitment of our student-athletes, coaches, administrators, families, and fans to representing Landstown with class, respect, and excellence. Together, we continue to set the standard for character, leadership, and sportsmanship in Virginia high school athletics.

Save the date for Sensory Friendly Night at Ocean Breeze Waterpark!

Monday, June 22nd, 2026 from 4 PM – 7 PM
The park will be open exclusively for individuals with disabilities, their family and friends on Monday, June 22nd, from 4 PM to 7 PM. The park will be adjusted to have a more relaxed atmosphere and limited tickets sales!

Sensory Friendly special event ticket holders are welcome to enter the park beginning at 4 PM and stay until 7 PM. Other types of Admission and Season Pass not valid for entry.

Get your tickets now for only $24.99 for Age 3 & Up. Have a Season Pass? Your Sensory Friendly fundraiser admission ticket is only $19.99.

Congratulations to our Landstown High School Cafeteria and Food Services Staff!

Our school division recently received outstanding results during its federal audit, with more than 14 commendations from the Virginia Department of Education. This remarkable achievement reflects the high standards, professionalism, and dedication demonstrated across our entire school nutrition program.

Our Landstown High School Cafeteria and Food Services Staff work hard each day to ensure students are served in a welcoming, efficient, and compliant environment. We are thankful for the hard work and dedication of each member of our cafeteria staff; your work is a cornerstone in providing our students with an excellent educational experience. Congratulations on achieving such a milestone and remaining dedicated to all around excellence at Landstown High School!

🎉AVID Senior Breakfast Celebration

This week, twelve outstanding AVID Seniors were celebrated during the AVID Senior Breakfast Celebration. Surrounded by family members, friends, staff, and a surprise visit from their freshman AVID Elective teacher, Mr. Dwight Robinson, these students were recognized for their dedication, perseverance, and commitment throughout their high school journey. The celebration provided an opportunity for each senior to reflect on their experiences in AVID, share lessons they learned along the way, and announce their college and career plans after graduation. Hearing each student speak about their personal growth, future aspirations, and the impact AVID has had on their lives was a powerful reminder of the importance of supporting students holistically as they prepare for the next chapter of their lives.

A special thank you goes out to Coach Jackson, AVID Elective Teacher, Mrs. Davanzo-Tysor, AVID Coordinator, Mrs. M. Johnson, AVID Counselor, Dr. Washington, AVID Administrator, and all the Landstown High School AVID Site Team members, and our VBCPS district leaders and coaches.

Thank you so much for the nomination, Mr. Pillega! It truly meant the world to me. I absolutely love working with our incredible cafeteria staff every day!

To keep this wonderful tradition moving forward, I am thrilled to pass the award on to Ms. Kim Gibson. Kim is a remarkably kind, loving, and respectful person who brings equality and warmth to our school community. It doesn’t matter what position or title you hold at Landstown—Kim treats everyone with the exact same level of genuine respect.

Where Kim truly shines is her work with our special needs students. Her patience is unmatched, and she has a beautiful, unique way of letting them know just how special and valued they are.

Thank you, Ms. Kim Gibson, for all of your hard work and dedication. It certainly does not go unnoticed, and I want you to know that you make a massive difference here at Landstown!
