Excited to be a panelist for this important VA MOCA debate: Art and Empathy!

Dr. Geoffrey Thompson is a panelist for our upcoming event, Art & Empathy. With a background in both art and psychiatry, we're looking forward to his unique perspective during the program.

Empathy is the core value in his art therapy work and plays a huge part in the relationship between art and humanity; he's excited to explore that relationship during the panel discussion.

In addition to recently becoming a community faculty member at Eastern Virginia Medical School, he maintains a private practice and is currently pursuing research interests in the integration of aesthetics, philosophy and art psychotherapy within the context of concepts of self, narrative identity and de-stigmatization of the effects of psychopathology.

Geoffrey has previously taught studio art, philosophy and art therapy and is a practicing artist who has exhibited his work internationally. Geoffrey serves on the editorial board of the journal: Art Therapy and is the Chair of the Editorial Board of the Human Science Institute, Park City, Utah.

Art & Empathy is proudly created with PRA Group.

My ongoing series continues, here’s a couple of views of recent progress. Space both expands & contracts, though obviously this lived experience is best experienced face-to~face; one day soon, hopefully, I can welcome everyone to experience this in person. Be well & stay safe out there.
