In just two weeks, Batten University will celebrate the Sentara College of Health Sciences Class of 2026 by hosting the College's commencement ceremony for the first time since our historic integration. The Aug. 13 ceremony will honor 24 graduates receiving Master of Science in Nursing (Entry to Nursing Practice) and RN-to-BSN degrees. The University will also award one honorary degree, CEO Dennis Matheis of Sentara Health , and two emerita statuses, Drs. Angela Taylor and Cynthia Banks, during the ceremony. CreatorVerse, a festival celebrating youth innovation, creativity, and live music, will take place Saturday, October 24, across Batten University, including the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art . Created by Grammy Award-winning producer and Virginia Beach native Timbaland and his nonprofit The Timbaland Way , in partnership with ACCESS College Foundation and Batten University, the festival will bring students and community members from across the region to explore emerging technologies, the creative economy, and future career pathways.
