This event is FREE to all current VPAA dancers! (Including the incoming freshmen.) It is a great way to get that body moving before school starts back up.

Last week, we honored the Visual & Performing Arts Academy’s Class of 2025 at their Senior Celebration (aka Academy Graduation). These dance seniors have left their mark on the Dance Strand, on the Academy, and on Salem! We are so proud of you! A special shout out and a huge congratulations to Tamera J. who won the Roupas-Melatti Scholarship and Liliana G. who was awarded one of the FOTA Scholarships. Way to go, ladies!

This senior class right here is something special!! Come see them take their “final curtain” during their Senior Production. One thing is sure… they did it “their way”!

The Dance Strand had a fabulous May Concert! Congratulations to all the students that performed! Bravo! ❤️🖤

Blossom into the first day of spring by coming to support the VPAA Dance Class of 2026’s Student Choreography Concert, In Bloom. The performance is this Friday, March 21st, in the Salem High School Auditorium at 7pm. Tickets can be purchased on FOTA’s GOFAN ( https://gofan.co/event/3388215?schoolId=VA12905_2 ). Tickets are $5 for students and $8 for everyone else. We hope to see you there!

We are thrilled to announce that the Dance Strand’s first performance of the season is just around the corner! Join us for our annual Winter Works concert this Friday, January 17th, at 7 PM.

This year’s concert will feature a dynamic lineup, including four guest choreographer pieces, three faculty works, and two student-choreographed pieces. We are also honored to welcome the Norfolk Dance Collective ( ) to our program.
