The Class of 2027 is full of special people who are finding ways to use their talents to help their communities! We can’t wait to see what next year holds!

Two Virginia Beach teenagers have launched the nonprofit Tidewater Historical Restoration Initiative to help document and preserve lesser-known historical sites across Hampton Roads.

Co-founders Ryan Chen and Varun Venkatadasari, rising juniors at Ocean Lakes Math and Science Academy, were inspired to act after noticing the dilapidated and vandalized state of local landmarks such as Norfolk's historic Christian Temple.

The duo is focused on mapping out and documenting these forgotten spots while planning community cleanups.

We have some amazing students! Read about how one of our freshmen is exercising environmental stewardship! Also, Mrs. Pullman with Lynnhaven River Now has been a supporter of our school. If you are interested in that organization's work, this is a great read for you, too!

Virginia Beach is home to over 900 lakes and ponds, and in some neighborhoods, the waterways intersect with residential property. Deciphering who takes care of what water can be challenging.

We hope your Spring Break is off to a great start! Some of you Juniors may be doing college visits and Senior families doing Admitted Student Days…some may be at the beach, mountains, or theme parks…and even more may be enjoying some much needed R&R at home as a staycation.

Whatever you are doing for spring break this week, we at the MSA Booster Club would like to encourage your students to take time to apply for our available scholarships and grants - there are $3,000 in senior scholarships and $1,000 in underclassmen enrichment grants available this year - which will be presented in June to our winning applicants.

The application process is quite simple and recipients are determined by a third-party review of all applications (where student-identifying information is removed to ensure impartiality).

🚨The deadline for application submission is 11:59pm on Sunday April 26…and your family must have an active 25-26 MSA Booster Club Membership to apply🚨

It’s been a terrific week! The class of 2026 finished their senior presentations, and our researchers represented our school so well at the Tidewater Science and Engineering Fair at ODU today. We were joined today by current and former students who turned out to support—that’s the Dolphin Way!
