At 55, Karen Curry decided it was time to go back to school.

After raising her children and spending 26 years as a respiratory therapist, Karen was ready for a new challenge. She returned to the classroom and began a new career path in healthcare IT. It wasn't always easy, but with support from her professors and advisors, she pushed through and discovered what she was capable of.

For parents who may be thinking about putting their own education back on the list, Karen’s story is a reminder that your goals don’t have to stay on pause forever.

AI is reshaping healthcare, and the conversation is just getting started.

The AI Collective Manassas Chapter is bringing industry leaders in technology and healthcare together at ECPI University’s Northern Virginia campus in Manassas for a day focused on AI, healthcare, ethics, public safety, and emerging technology.

The event will feature expert panels, guest speakers, and a keynote from Dr. Dave Prakash, Clinical Technology Advisor at Booz Allen Hamilton.

Supporting military-connected students means understanding that the transition to college can bring challenges beyond the classroom.

Students and faculty from ECPI University’s Medical Assistant program in Columbia recently came together to support the Columbia Dream Center and local families in need.

Led by Rosalind George, Director of the Medical Assistant program, the group organized a cleaning-supply drive and collected essential household items to support the Dream Center’s ongoing work throughout the community.

The initiative allowed students to make a meaningful impact beyond the classroom while supporting an organization dedicated to connecting local families with resources and services.

Our Orlando Lake Mary campus has been named a 2026 Seminole Star at the Seminole County Chamber’s Seminole Business Awards.

The honor recognizes the campus for its impact in healthcare and technology education, preparing students for careers in nursing, diagnostic medical sonography, physical therapist assisting and cybersecurity, as well as its commitment to serving Central Florida beyond the classroom.

Through its curriculum and community engagement, students, faculty and staff have contributed more than 7,500 hours of community service, supporting organizations and residents across the region.

Campus President Dr. Bruce Smith, DBA represented ECPI University at the awards ceremony, accepting the recognition on behalf of the campus.
