A stellar trio of scholar-athletes! Brothers Tristan Whitfield ’23, who plays volleyball at Princeton University, and Sebastian Whitfield ’25, who plays basketball at Princeton, recently returned to campus to cheer on their sister, Alexa Whitfield, at her varsity volleyball game against Grace Christian School.

We love seeing our alumni back on campus supporting family and the next generation of Dolphins! ❤️🐬

The joining of these two families brings even more Cape Henry connections, including Jared Gordon ’19, Ali Gordon ’20, Alex Gordon ’23, Clay Willis ’17, Alex Kramer '14, Jackson Skeen '14, Peter Pearson '14, Austin Kramer '16, Madison Spear Fisher '14, Caroline Albert '15, Hanna Bleznak Williams '15, along with father of the bride, Ros Willis ’82.

Congratulations to Jory Bunn ’10 on his new role with the Architect of the Capitol (AOC)! Jory has stepped into his new role as a General Engineer/Architect Project Manager in the Office of the Chief Security Officer.
When reflecting on what he’s learned throughout his engineering career, Jory shared: “It’s about being willing to take on more, keep learning, stay consistent, and trust that the work you’re putting in will eventually speak for itself.”

We couldn’t agree more! Cheers to Jory and this exciting new chapter in his career. 👏🐬

Ashley Anne Coureas ’22 is making her Grand Ole Opry debut on September 19, 2026! 🎤✨ Being invited to perform at the Grand Ole Opry is a major milestone in the world of country music, and we couldn’t be more proud to see Ashley Anne take the stage at one of country music’s most iconic venues!

🏈 Last Saturday was a full-circle moment for Alex Farmartino ’00, when ESPN’s ACC Huddle returned to Charlottesville—the place where Alex first began his sports television career as a UVA student.
Now ESPN’s Vice President of Production for ACC Network, Alex has helped reshape ACC Huddle, taking the show on the road each week to ACC campuses and games. His career began with a passion for sports and a willingness to learn, landing his first opportunity filming a rainy field hockey game. By his senior year, he was shooting football highlights from the field and traveling with the men’s basketball team.

More than two decades later, Alex has built an incredible career around live-sports broadcasting experiences, spending more than 25 years working across the ACC and producing games at campuses throughout the conference. What a full-circle journey! 🐬📺

☀️ Summer Beyond the Classroom! 🌎We’re highlighting our young alumni who spent part of their summer gaining valuable hands-on experience through internships in their fields of interest!

Caden Templeton ’23 spent his summer as a Product Marketing Intern at Mohawk, gaining valuable experience in a creative, collaborative environment with the resilient flooring team.

A large part of Caden’s work focused on market research, including connecting with retailers and employees across the country, developing high-level market analyses, and creating key branding materials to support Mohawk’s future initiatives.

Caden will return to the University of Miami for his final year with a stronger foundation in brand marketing and market research—and plenty of real-world experience to carry forward! 🐬💼🌴

☀️ Summer beyond the Classroom! We’re highlighting our young alumni who spent part of their summer gaining valuable hands-on experience through internships in their fields of interest!

Caroline Berman '23, spent part of her summer abroad with Aramark, traveling to the University of Leeds, University College Dublin (UCD), and University College London (UCL) to conduct research alongside professors. Her research focused on disability accommodations and accessibility in higher education institutions, with the goal of learning from international models and helping improve the systems we rely on here in the United States.

We’re so proud of Caroline for using her summer to learn, explore, and pursue research that can make a meaningful difference!

👏 Congratulations to Hobie Whitmore ’88!

We’re proud to see Cape Henry Collegiate Board of Trustee member Hobie Whitmore ’88 continuing his commitment to serving our community as the newest member of Virginia Beach Vision.

A Sandbridge native with deep roots in Virginia Beach and Hampton Roads, Hobie has built a career spanning the Virginia Maritime Association and more than three decades in financial services. In 2017, he helped establish Towne Wealth Management’s Virginia Beach Oceanfront office and was recently named to the 2026 Forbes list of Best-in-State Wealth Advisors.

Hobie also serves on the North Virginia Beach Civic League, continuing his dedication to making a difference in the community he calls home. We’re grateful for Hobie’s leadership and service—both to Cape Henry and to the greater Hampton Roads community! 🐬👏

📚❤️A Special Photo Collage Throwback!

Throwing it back to Mrs. Carolyn Scullion’s first-grade class from 2003–2004! This special group was made up mostly of students who were the youngest siblings in families Carolyn had taught throughout the years.
During her four decades at Cape Henry, Mrs. Scullion became a beloved presence in the Lower School hallways. She didn’t simply teach students for one year—she taught children who would consider her “their” teacher for life.

Although Carolyn retired in 2024, the Cape Henry community is lucky to still see her throughout the school year at so many on- and off-campus events. Some teachers leave a lasting impression. Mrs. Scullion left a legacy. 🐬❤️
