These junior culinary specialists (CS) have successfully completed four weeks of formal culinary instruction, and have earned the opportunity to become galley watch captains. NSSATC HQ was able to celebrate their accomplishments at the NS Norfolk Grand Buffet. This month's theme was "Tailgate" and offered classic game day faves, created and presented by the students!
Galley watch captains are the backbone of food service production across the Navy. Responsible for all food service operations in the galley, watch captains are given specific training to take on roles similar to a manager at a restaurant. The course expands on the basics culinary specialists are initially taught, by training them to be leaders and administrators as well as workers and servers.
With full bellies, we say to these Sailors: Bravo Zulu, and we can't wait to see you all succeed in the Fleet!
