I’m rolling the dice again on the Wisconsin River sandbars. If you want to get out for some (more?) top notch tracking this summer, this may be a terrific opportunity for you. We had rain storms just 24 hours before this last program session and it was still action packed with us hustling up the sandbars to get to a couple last sites before our ending time! I will pick an ideal site just before hand but it will be Saturday, July 29th and I am again asking a donation of $30 adult, $15 youth, free under 10.

A great way to enjoy the riverway, connect to the Earth, and meet other folks passionate about learning directly from the Good Earth and her wild communities. An ancient art that perfectly pairs our keen, deductive mind, and our empathetic draw to connect deeply to the wilds around us! Comment interest below or DM me for details or to register.

Hey everyone. Wanted to reach out to everyone here and ask you all to check out what is happening with Line 3 in northern MN. A Canadian company, Enbridge, is rerouting a large tar sands pipeline through countless waterways and wild rice beds and threatening the health of the greater midwest environment. It is also greatly impacting Ojibwe folks there and the resources and sites held sacred to them. None of us should be happy about this. I encourage you to find out more and get involved. Perhaps your money is in a bank like Wells Fargo that is invested in this destructive fossil fuel infrastructure, and you could pull it. Maybe you could contribute to the legal effort. Perhaps you could go help out or join in the efforts to resist this nonesense on the front lines. Tar sands are not a good source of fuel, even by fossil fuel standards, and it pollutes more than other sources every step of the way from the massive pit mines in Alberta to the refineries in the US and abroad . And the pipelines leak. Period. Look it up.

For more information on what is happening check out stopline3.org on the web or on facebook look up Honor The Earth or Giniw Collective pages. Either way, the first step is getting better informed, and helping others become aware.

Hope everyone is enjoying the great berry picking season upon us! We have sure been thankful for such a good year so far, the black caps are really doing wonderfully. If you haven't been out, try your local pasture edges or a brushy creekside and you will probably find what you are looking for!

These girls have sure been great help with the berries this season. Working hard and only eating the occasional handful. Try hiring your children, they can be really hard workers and usually only cost you half of the harvest for the first few seasons! 😁🤣😼

Good day everyone. Haven't posted much here in a while but perhaps I can make up for that. I has been a busy and productive period of spring, and between teaching and foraging and fishing and gardening and family it has kept me running. I will work to throw a few more great edibles of middle spring out to you here one more time before the real business of tripping north, more fishing, bark harvest, and camping out begins! In the meantime I have a bunch of videos on YouTube now from some online teaching that I have been doing and I though I would share them through a link here! They have been quite a goofy adventure in teaching, something I never envisioned doing much of, but all in the name of learning! And our 11 year old daughter has been learning much about videography too!

Lots more where that one is at. All under the YouTube channel. Nicholas WazeeGale

And if you are on Instagram, I have been posting lots of edibles and adventures in craft there .wazee.gale

The first video in series on basic survival shelter, the debris hut. Covers getting started and structuring the shelter, and making a matrix of smaller stick...
