👕 FREE DRESS FRIDAY FOR SOME! 🎉

Students who returned ALL of their First Day of School forms by the deadline earned FREE DRESS this Friday, August 21! ❤️💙

📋 The list of students who earned the Free Dress reward is now posted. Students are responsible for checking the list during their lunch hour to make sure their name is included.

Free dress means no uniform, but school dress expectations still apply!

🚫 Please do NOT wear:

- Pajamas or sleepwear
- Spandex or overly tight clothing
- Clothing that is too short or revealing
- Clothing with inappropriate words, images, messages, or logos
- Crocs — these are still not allowed due to safety concerns

👟 All shoes must have a back.

We want everyone who earned the reward to enjoy their Free Dress Day while keeping clothing and footwear safe and school appropriate.

📸 PICTURE DAY IS THURSDAY! 📸

Vinton Middle School Picture Day is Thursday, August 20!

👕 Students will take pictures in uniform dress.
📘 This picture will be used in the VMS yearbook and will also be available for purchase.

🏐🏈 VMS VOLLEYBALL & FOOTBALL TRYOUTS! 🏈🏐

Tryouts will be held Monday, August 17 and Tuesday, August 18.

📋 IMPORTANT: Students MUST have a completed athletic packet with proof of insurance in order to try out.

⏰ Tryouts end at 5:00 PM each day.
🚗 Students must have transportation home.

🏐 Volleyball Tryouts: August 17 & 18

Whose PAC Has A-MAZE-ing Attendance?! 👾

This year, any grade level that achieves 98% or higher attendance will earn 5 extra minutes of lunch for that day!

🌟 How It Works
- Each grade has its own Pac-Man Game Board to track attendance success.
- Each maze contains 172 dots, representing the 172 school days in the year.
- Every time a grade reaches the 98% attendance goal, Pac-Man "eats" a dot from the maze.
- The more dots that disappear, the closer the grade gets to an attendance-perfect maze!

6th Grade: 0/2 🥲�Not on the board yet, but there's plenty of time to get started!

7th Grade: 1/2 👍👎�First day: ✅ Goal met!�Second day: ❌ Goal missed.

8th Grade: 2/2 👏🎉�Goal met both days and earned the reward each time!

Parents & Guardians, please be on the lookout for your student’s First Day of School Forms being sent home Thursday, August 13. Please complete, sign, and return all required forms to your student’s homeroom teacher by Monday, August 17.

First Day of School ✅
After welcoming in our students with our award winning cheer squad, students jumped into classes to learn procedures and dive into content!
We have great students, teachers, and staff. It is looking to be another amazing year at VMS!🦁

📚 6th & 8th Grade Binder Update

Our student binders for 6th and 8th grade are running a little late and have not arrived yet.

As soon as they arrive, our VMS staff will get them organized and ready for students and hand them out as quickly as possible.

In the meantime, students will keep all their materials in a notebook provided by the school.

📚🦁 Tomorrow's the Big Day! Welcome Back, Vinton Middle! 🦁📚

We can't wait to welcome our students back for an amazing school year! Please take a moment to review the information in the graphic so your student is ready for a smooth first day.

A few important reminders:
✅ Students may arrive beginning at 7:15 AM
✅ Students eating breakfast should report directly to the cafeteria, then to the gym
✅ Students not eating breakfast should report directly to the gym
✅ Wear your full school uniform
✅ School supplies will be distributed on the first day
✅ Make sure your child knows how they will get home, including their bus number if riding the bus
