WWAW: I’ve been on set all week for a TV show with Cornerstone, called ‘Song Revolution’ that airs in September. You’ll have to check it out. Yesterday, Don Moen came in the room and I was so surprised. I grew up singing his worship songs. Countless others walked in throughout the week that I was so surprised by. When I took this job I had no idea who would be in the room. But God did! He has used these singers and musicians this week to encourage me in a way that only He can. Yesterday, the host asked songwriter Cindy Morgan what was one word that described what the Lord was doing in her life. She pointed across the room, behind the cameras and lights, to me and said, “Austin has a tattoo on his arm that says ‘Be Still.’ That’s what God is trying to get me to do these days.” I’ve just been the guy in the back helping and making sure everyone looks nice. But just like with David, when Samuel asked for the youngest and he was in the field working, he had no idea what God was up to. God has a way of getting His will accomplished even when we’re not aware of what’s going on. Today, whatever you may be hoping and praying for, trust that the Lord knows where you are and that He is able to get you where you need to be. He’s able to place you in the right rooms at the right time for the right reasons. Even when you’re unaware of it all. Jeremiah 29:11. ~Austin Wade

TFTD: I heard a woman on TV ask, “Why didn’t God stop him?” when she was interviewed after a serial killer was arrested. I understand her being aggravated, but I don’t understand blaming God. I would like to ask her if she could control everything her neighbor’s kid did. God didn’t make robots or puppets and He doesn’t call the shots of His children, so He certainly isn’t going to control what satan’s child is doing. We live in a fallen world. We see bad things happen to good people every day. I confess, I don’t understand it either, but I know that God wasn’t caught off guard. He is still on His throne and He is still good and can be trusted. Don’t get caught up in blaming someone for all the bad stuff going on. Instead, trust that God is protecting you and your family and praise Him that “No weapon formed against you will prosper.” ~Marsha

TFTD: How do you keep from thinking about something? By thinking of something else. If you’re on a diet, how many commercials are about food? Everything looks delicious. And the more you try to not think about a slice of apple pie with ice cream, the more you’ll think about it. You must fill your mind with something else. “Man cannot live by bread alone” comes to mind. It’ll work for any wrong behavior. Replace the bad thoughts with God’s Word. Ask God to help you. Pretty soon you’ll find you’re craving fellowship with Father God. That’s an “addiction” that’ll save your life. God's Word will either keep you from sin, or sin will keep you from God's Word. It’s a choice. Choose life! ~Marsha

TFTD: I watched a true crime show about a man who murdered his father-in-law, pregnant wife, and his 6-year-old daughter. I wanted to reach thru the TV and throat punch him. He was an atheist when he bludgeoned his family, but found Jesus in prison. I would sure like the eye-for-an-eye punishment for him. He wrote a poem while on death row that ended, “I’ll be with Jesus when I wake.” It’s hard to fathom that God loves him and will allow him into heaven. I know I’m not his judge and I know we all sin and fall short of the glory of God. I’m glad God is full of grace and mercy for me. And like it or not, Jesus died on the cross for that man the same as He did for us. I sure have a ways to go before I can show mercy to such an evil man. But I’m sure glad God forgives me of all my sins. ~Marsha

TFTD: It’s a little tough when you realize that not everyone likes you. And no one gets to tell you who and what you are. Nobody gets to label you. That’s God’s job. You weren’t a mistake, you were fearfully and wonderfully made. You aren’t worthless, you are the apple of His eye. You’re not stupid, you have the mind of Christ. You aren’t a loser, you’re a winner. You’re not always going to be an addict, you are a new creation in Him. You aren’t fatherless, you are a child of God! Don’t let someone tell you that you’re something you’re not. Remind them you’re made in the image of God, and He doesn’t make junk. ~Marsha

WWAW: Have you ever ridden with a crazy driver? I mean like actually crazy. The one who runs through a yellow light and makes a turn on two wheels. Remember how you felt when you were in the passenger seat holding onto that little handle in the ceiling of the car? That’s how I’ve been feeling with life lately. I’ve been holding on for dear life because I feel that if I let go, I may get hurt. I may crash and burn. I don’t know about you, but when things aren’t going my way, I tend to get tense and want to get in the driver’s seat instead of trusting God to take the lead. It’s hard to trust that even when it’s bumpy, and I can’t see what’s coming, that God is still in control and He’s still working all things for my good. But I want to encourage you and remind you that there is no valley where God is not on His throne. There’s no darkness where God can’t find you. There’s no pain that God can’t comfort. There’s nothing that God hasn’t already worked for your good if you trust Him and surrender to Him. No matter what you’re facing, you have a God who loves you and will never stop seeking you. He’s closer than a brother and always on time. For further encouragement read Proverbs 3:5-6 and Philippians 4:6. ~Austin Wade

TFTD: Isaiah 54:17 says, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn.” This is a powerful verse, especially for the days we’re now living in. This verse tells me that God will protect us. It also tells me people are going to come against us with words, but the enemy has no power over us. His words are just a ruse to get us in strife. The only power he has is when we believe him, but to believe him is to not believe God. I choose to walk in faith and trust God. Don’t you? ~Marsha

TFTD: Everyone makes mistakes. It doesn’t mean you’re a mistake, it just means you don’t always make good decisions. The good news is God will still help you even if the mess is your own doing. He will never leave you nor forsake you (Heb. 13:5). He is the God of hope, and He’s opening a door of hope in your life today so you can step out of the darkness and into His light (1 Pet. 2:9). It may not seem like it right now, but things are going to get better. The breakthroughs you’ve been waiting for are headed your way. You just need to step thru the door of hope and allow Him to lead you to freedom. He’s the only one who can totally fix the situation and change you from the inside out. ~Marsha

TFTD: One of my favorite songs is “The Anchor Holds,” and Beth and Lori did an outstanding job singing it yesterday. It gives me comfort knowing that Father God is the Anchor in my life and I don’t have to try and hold things together. He’s got it under control. It doesn’t matter how torn and battered things get, He is there to hold us. We may think we can’t possibly go on, but that’s when He will give us strength and peace. Don’t let the enemy talk you out of your victory. There’s nothing he’d like more than to discourage us and get us off-course. But hang on! God’s got us and He’ll never let us drown! ~Marsha

TFTD: One thing Dad hammered into us was “you get what you say.” It’s not enough to know the word, but you must say the word. Remember when Jesus was tempted in the wilderness? He didn’t just think about scripture. He spoke it. “It is written.” It doesn’t matter how many verses you can memorize, they won’t help you if you don’t say “It is written,” and then release the word. When you speak it out loud, you release God’s power into your situation. Be mindful of what you’re saying. Do you really want what you just confessed? ~Marsha
