The Sense of Wonder Creations Studio will have our annual Holiday Workshop Benefits this week on Wednesday and Thursday 3:30 to 5:30pm. Please share this email.

Please come to our Annual Holiday Craft Workshops and Benefit, everyone is welcome. Individuals, Families, Friends, relatives. ❤
The workshops are on Wednesday and Thursday December 17th and 18th at The Sense of Wonder Creations Studio, 23 Grove Avenue in Vineyard Haven. There is a suggested donation for families or guests joining in, depending on how many people and what you can afford and whatever you would like to donate. Contributions for materials will also be gratefully accepted. 100% of the donations will go to Godfrey Muwulya’s Orphanage in Uganda. Please message me here to let us know if you are coming.
We have lots of different and new Crafts and Projects again this year!
There will be colorful wool for felt making animals, ornaments, shapes or whatever, all kinds of ornament or sculpture possibilities, collage, paint and decorate ceramic bowls and sculptures, Sculpey creations. Paint or block print dish/tea towels , T shirts, aprons, canvas bags, canvas placemats and floor cloths, paint or decorate metal trays. There are lots of block printing shapes to try out. Paint and decorate, wooden animal shapes, wooden boxes, glass plates, engraving tools for wood or glass for the adults, a large selection of shells and greens for wreathmaking. Colored duct tape creations, fill or paint your own clear ornaments, stain glass paint for glass plates and plexiglass shapes and Lots More!!!….. We have all kinds of holiday decorations, glue guns, plus the everpresent beads, feathers, pipe cleaners, pom poms, shells, colored duct tape, yarn, ribbon, tissue and rice paper and acrylic, watercolor, fabric and glitter paint, permanent markers and Lots more.
Snacks and Drinks will be available at the workshops. We hope you will be able to join us for this Exciting and Creative Craft Making Benefit and all the fun fun fun where everyone wins!!! Thank you for any snack donations.

Dear Friends,
🍁 🍂 🎃 🍎 👻 Greetings to you, Happy Autumn Pumpkins and Apple cider. (It is actually our 35th year. I will change that error soon.) We are back from our trip to Europe and hiking part of the Camino de Santiago now and are very excited to be getting ready for our Fall Sense of Wonder Art Class session. We have a few places left and we really hope that your children will be able to join us for some awesome, enriching and inspiring classes. We will begin classes the week of November 3rd and 10th and go till December 18th, six classes. For those in need we are very happy to offer you financial aid and scholarships. ❤
We really hope that your children will join us for an amazing session full of new projects, programs and visiting artists. The classes happen on Wednesday

The Sense of Wonder Day Camp Newsletter July 25th, 2025
Dear Friends,
We have had a super creative week here at the Sense of Wonder Day Camp. We usually begin our mornings with drawing ideas related to the weekly theme, drawing animals, birds, water creatures, reptiles, dinosaurs, trees, nature or their favorite places to visit on Martha’s Vineyard and beyond.
Please join us on Friday July 25th to see a short film about Dr John Francis https://planetwalk.org and hear him talk in person about his extraordinary Life not speaking for 17 years, How he ended up writing regulations for tankers and walking across continents, Environmental projects and his work with Young People.
You will also get to hear Steve Lohman, the Master wire and metal rod Sculptor and fine woodworker and his wife Penelope McLean, Sculptor and five star chef. They are going to talk about our papier mache’ Endangered Animal Sculpture that we chose this summer. And Dan Butterworth
will perform a short Puppetry demonstration before the six original Puppet Shows written and performed by the campers and counselors.
You will also the campers’ Art Show, and hear the campers and Counselors sing about Random Acts of Kindness with Andy Herr. ❤️
We are so very blessed and grateful to have campers, counselors, parents and grandparents this summer from Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, France, Greece, Haiti, Ireland, Israel, Jordan, Poland and Sweden.

Dear Parents and Friends,
We have had a super exciting week here at the Sense of Wonder Day Camp with Omari Contaste’ and his family. We usually begin our mornings with drawing ideas related to the theme. Omari has Trinidad and Caribbean roots and has studied Caribbean, African and Ballet dance movements. He has brilliantly incorporated our environmental theme of protecting all flying creatures (birds, insects, mammals) into the campers dance and play today. We also have a song for you that the campers and counselors wrote with Laura Benjamin which is on our Sense of Wonder Creations Live 2010 CD. You can get it on Spotify. “Help the Birds Keep Flyin’ “ The campers have been very creative this week fabricating papier mache’ creatures that fly (and other creatures), hand building and working on the potter’s wheel with clay guided by Olin Gannon, decorating masks, building some airplane models and creating multiple glue gun sculptures. . Richard (Dick) Everett, the Award Winning and National Champion of the P24 Competition of the Academy of Model Aeronautics, will be here today to talk to the campers and parents. He is a world-renowned blacksmith, steam engine specialist, model airplane builder, flyer and raconteur extraordinaire. He will show us his hand-built models and talk about his favorite craft. Please join us at 12 noon to see your child’s Art Show, play and dance and hear them sing about caring for birds. and the Trumpet Chicks are joining us today at 12pm!!!

TrumpetChics Trumpet Chics is a part of Camden Repertory Theater in Camden, NJ, which helps increase opportunities for students in the arts, the ensemble features a talented group of young musicians who aren’t afraid to have some fun onstage.

Camp Sense of Wonder will be giving out free camp weeks for those children in need. Please message me if you are interested. ❤
