Cumberland County Technical Education Center (CCTEC) Alumni Spotlight – He’s Done It Again! CCTEC Graduate Celebrates Second Disney Dessert Selection

He’s done it again! CCTEC Class of 2022 graduate Ismael Torres is celebrating another exciting milestone in his culinary career with Disney. A second dessert developed in collaboration with the Disney culinary team has been selected to be featured at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort in Orlando, Florida.

The newest creation, Tiana’s Caramel Eclair, features honey cremeux, caramel, and spiced pecans. The selection marks another exciting accomplishment for Ismael, who has continued to grow within Disney’s culinary operations and is now stationed at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts.

This achievement follows the selection of the Snowflake Ornament, a dessert concept inspired by Ismael’s Puerto Rican heritage and the traditional holiday drink coquito. Developed in collaboration with the Disney culinary team, the dessert was selected as a party-exclusive offering for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom.

Ismael’s passion for pastry and culinary arts began well before his career with Disney. A graduate of CCTEC’s Culinary Arts & Hospitality program, he earned his associate degree while still in high school through CCTEC’s Early College High School Program before continuing his education at the Culinary Institute of America, where he earned a Bachelor of Professional Studies in Bakery and Pastry Arts.

From his time in CCTEC’s kitchens to now seeing a second dessert selected by Disney, Ismael continues to build an impressive career through creativity, dedication, and a passion for his craft. CCTEC is proud to once again celebrate Ismael Torres and looks forward to seeing where his culinary journey takes him next!

(CCTEC) Continues to Earn Statewide Recognition! 👏

Following graduation, CCTEC's record number of graduates earning both a high school diploma and an associate degree has been featured in multiple news outlets, including NJBIZ, the Courier-Post, and most recently, the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Among those recognized is 2026 graduate, Yeheira Acosta, an exceptional graduate whose story reflects the dedication, perseverance, and excellence found throughout the CCTEC community.

Last night, we had the privilege of celebrating the accomplishments of the Cumberland County Technical Education Center (CCTEC) Class of 2026.

As 289 graduates crossed the stage surrounded by proud families, friends, educators, and community partners, we not only celebrated their completion of high school—but their commitment to using their talents for the betterment of the world around them.

On behalf of the entire Foundation Board, we offer our sincerest congratulations to the Class of 2026!

What an incredible evening celebrating the Class of 2026 at the Cumberland County Technical Education Center (CCTEC) Awards & Scholarship Ceremony! 🎓

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, business partners, and supporters, the Foundation awarded 131 scholarships totaling $114,100 to deserving CCTEC graduates as they pursue their next steps in college, apprenticeships, military service, and careers.

A special highlight of the evening was Studio Production student and 4-Year Class President Olusayo Sode receiving the $10,000 John F. Scarpa Legacy Scholarship. In a heartfelt moment, Olusayo shared, “By God’s grace, everything worked out.”
