Parents: Car rider procedures are listed in the parent/student handbook. "In order to make car rider dismissal more efficient, all drivers must have the original car rider number visible to VES faculty/staff. If the driver does not have the student's original car rider number, he/she must park and come to the main office to retrieve the student or to obtain another car rider number. "

Also, utilize the car rider line to drop off students. Students should not be dropped off in the parking lot and made to walk inside the school without an adult.

These procedures are in place for safety reasons.

Bus Rider Reminder:
If your child will ride the bus this school year, you must register him/her using the following link: https://busregistration.shelbyed.org

IMPORTANT: There have been some changes to bus numbers, routes, and bus drivers for the upcoming school year. Before selecting a bus number using the link provided, please verify your home address or assigned bus stop address match the bus number assigned to it to ensure you select the correct bus before you communicate the information to the teacher. If you need assistance, please go to the gym during Meet the Teacher.

Car Riders:
Pick up a car rider number in the gym during Meet the Teacher. The car rider number will need to be displayed the entire time during afternoon dismissal.

Shelby County Schools has been selected to pilot Universal Free Breakfast for the 2026-2027 school year!

Beginning this school year, every Shelby County Schools student will be able to enjoy breakfast at school at no cost thanks to supplemental breakfast funding provided by the state of Alabama.

📅 What you need to know:
✅ Breakfast will be available at no cost to all students.
✅ The program will run throughout the entire 2026-2027 school year.
✅ Families should still complete the Meal Benefits Application. Completing the application helps students qualify for additional meal benefits when eligible and ensures Shelby County Schools continues to receive important federal funding that supports our nutrition programs.

We are grateful for this opportunity to better serve our students each morning and help ensure they are fueled and ready to learn.

In-person teacher placement information will be distributed on July 30th from 7:00 am - 5:00 pm for those who have completed registration. We will not give teacher placement information via phone. If you are unable to come on July 30th, you may come by the office any other day after July 30th during office hours which are 8:00 am - 3:00 pm.

Hi! My name is Candice Sanders, and I am so excited to be joining the team as an Instructional Aide at VES!

I am returning to the school system after taking a year off to spend time with my son and newborn daughter. Before coming to Vincent, I worked for three years as a CNP and Assistant Manager at Oak Mountain Middle School and for one year as the Cafeteria Manager at Inverness Elementary School.

I have always enjoyed working in schools and building relationships with students and staff, so I am excited for this new opportunity. I look forward to diving in headfirst, supporting both students and teachers, and helping create a positive learning environment. I am also excited to build meaningful relationships with students, teachers, and parents and to become a part of the VES family!

Congratulations to Mrs. Forsythe! She attended a conference in New Orleans to accept the Recognized ASCA Model Program (RAMP) award which recognizes schools committed to delivering school counseling programs aligned with the ASCA National Model framework.

Also, Mrs. Mitchell, Mrs. Beck, and Mrs. Coppock are participating in professional development! Our faculty and staff look forward to hearing about the effective teaching strategies they learned during the conference.

Registration Assistance: If you need help with registration, come by VES on July 16th from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm, or contact the front office for assistance Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00-3:00.
