Have an hour to spare or an item to share? We need your help with the 2026 Chili Supper!

We’re still looking for volunteers and donations. Here’s how you can help:

• Volunteer for a one-hour shift—or more if you’re able!
• Donate a dessert for the cake walk or serving line.
• Donate canned soda for the games.
• Donate drinks for the serving line. Tea and lemonade are especially needed!
• Contribute an item to a grade-level silent auction basket. Please turn in basket donations by October 30.

Whether you give your time or donate an item, every contribution helps. Complete the signup form to let us know how you can pitch in!

Join Franklin Elementary for McTeacher Night on Wednesday, October 21, from 5–7 p.m. at the Hart Street McDonald’s!

Take a break from cooking, visit with your teachers and enjoy a meal that gives back. McDonald’s will donate 20% of event sales to Franklin Elementary!

Ready to hit the court? Alice Jrs Volleyball Club invites VCSC girls in grades 5–8 to tryouts on Sunday, October 25, from 1:00–3:00 p.m. at Lincoln High School!

The club allows athletes to play volleyball while also participating in winter sports. Practices take place at LHS and Clark Middle School, with tournaments in Terre Haute, Washington, Indianapolis and Jasper.

Could your family use a little extra help this Christmas?

The Salvation Army of Knox County is accepting applications for 2026 Christmas Assistance, including the Christmas Toy Shop, Christmas Food Boxes and Coats for Kids.

Apply October 19–November 12:
• Monday–Wednesday: 9:00 a.m.–noon
• Thursday: By appointment only

Applications must be completed in person at The Salvation Army, 2300 N. 2nd St., Vincennes.

Please bring:
• Parent/guardian’s photo ID
• Proof of address and household income
• Birth certificates or other identification for children
• Each child’s shirt, pants, shoe and coat sizes
• Christmas gift ideas or wishes for each child

Have information available for everyone living in your household, as all household members must be included on the application.

Assistance is available to qualifying Knox County households, and registration is required. For questions or to schedule a Thursday appointment, call 812-882-6933.

Beth has dedicated 20 years to VCSC, including the past 14 at Franklin. From supporting students and connecting families with resources to helping wherever she’s needed, Beth makes our Vikings feel seen, heard and valued.
