Vincennes University Emergency Medical Services Program The VU EMS Program educates providers at "Indiana's first college." After completing the prerequisite requirements, students are interviewed for selection.

The EMS Program consists of two tracks, a one-year Certificate of Graduation and an Associates of Science degree. Students who successfully complete the paramedic program are eligible to take the National Registry's NRP examination. Those interested in the one-year certificate are required to possess a current EMT certification and one year of experience prior to entering the program. Those wishin

g to begin the AS degree program will pursue EMT certification during the first semester and experience as an EMT during the second semester in the program. The Vincennes University EMS Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).
