Campers at the Vincennes University Jasper STEM Academy started working on their projects this afternoon! Groups began assembling their battle bots, coding their mini drones, solving a mystery with forensic science, and learning how to help in emergency medical situations.

We’re seeing so many leaders emerge within the groups. Each has their own unique style – some are quiet leaders, others are making sure all group members are seen and heard, and others can be seen keeping the group on task by giving direction.

Camp #2 of the summer was our fifth annual Surveying Camp!

Campers gained hands-on experience searching for monuments with reference sketches and metal detectors, establishing control, running level loops and cross sections, using GPS and robots to collect measurements for a site plan, manual drafting of a cross-section, and CAD drafting of site plan measurements.

Additionally, campers receive one college credit hour in a surveying course.
