We often hear how expensive childcare is—and you’re right, it can add up quickly! But childcare is so much more than simply a place for your child to spend the day. 💛

During their time at IVC, children are learning and growing every day through play, hands-on experiences, and meaningful interactions. From social-emotional development and building friendships to language, communication, problem-solving, and getting ready for pre-K, your child is gaining skills that will help them succeed as they grow.

Island Village Childcare currently has space available in both classrooms! 🎉 Pictured are our tuition prices, including a breakdown of what you are paying per hour.

If you’ve been following our page, you know that Island Village Childcare has been fundraising throughout the summer to support our program for the children and families we serve.

Our next fundraiser is focused on something a little less exciting—but incredibly important: maintenance and upkeep of our building. We have 6 windows and 3 doors that need to be replaced. Replacing them will not only improve the safety and appearance of our space, but will also help us reduce heating costs and make our building more energy efficient.

We’re excited to share that one window has already been sponsored by Bo and Betsy Walsh! ❤️ Thank you for helping us take the first step toward this much-needed project.

Now, we’re asking our community to help us replace the remaining windows and doors. You can sponsor a window for $350 or a door for $750, and your name will be recognized with a name decal on the window or a name plate on the door you sponsor.

Every sponsorship brings us one step closer to a safer, more efficient, and more comfortable home for Island Village Childcare. Thank you for continuing to believe in and support IVC! 💙

As I’m wrapping up IVC’s Duck Race fundraiser, I’ve been thinking about all of the amazing community businesses that sponsored a big duck this year.

When Ashley and I first started reaching out to business owners, we had a goal in mind—and thanks to your generosity and support, we surpassed it!

Thank you to J. Edward Knight, Island Ticks, Salty Dogs, VH Veggies, Island’s Closet, The Sand Bar, The Tidewater, Island Excavation, and Hopkins Boatyard. Your support, enthusiasm, and duck jockeys made this year’s fundraiser even more fun and memorable.

The IVC Mill Stream Duck Race takes a LOT of moving parts to make it happen! Selling little ducks, finding businesses to sponsor big ducks, jockeys to race them, duck dumpers, duck catchers, duck finders, an emcee—and, of course, all the amazing people in the crowd who jump in to help when needed!

Every year, we head into the Duck Race thinking we have a plan. And every year, we somehow end up in absolute chaos—but it’s the best kind of chaos! 😂🦆

There is laughter, there are smiles, there is cheering, and there is a whole lot of community spirit.

We want to send a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who supported this year’s Duck Race. Whether you purchased a little duck, sponsored a big duck, cheered from the crowd, volunteered, or jumped right into the action, we are so grateful for you!

We absolutely could not make the Mill Stream Duck Race happen without all of you. Your support helps Island Village Childcare continue providing care and opportunities for our island’s youngest learners.

Thank you for showing up, pitching in, cheering loudly, and supporting IVC. You are what makes this event—and our community—so special! 💙🦆
