April is National Autism Awareness Month. It is the perfect time to show your support and spread awareness. Whether a family member or someone else you know has autism, there are many ways you can celebrate this month.

This month, and always, be intentional about learning more and engaging with people in your community who live with autism.

Happy Ramadan Villanovans! Ramadan is a month for spiritual discipline and focuses on charity and practicing disipline and kindness. This year, with the pandemic still looming over all of us, can make Ramadan feel more isolating and lonely than in past years. Check in on your Muslim friends and colleagues during this month and wish them a "Happy Ramadan." Ramadan Mubarak to everyone!

April is Celebrate Diversity Month. To spotlight some of the amazing work being done on campus to celebrate diversity, we are highlighting programs, organizations, and centers who are working to promote DEI. Up first is CASA! Swipe to learn more about CASA’s work!

April is . So, today we are highlighting the phenomenal work that CASA has done to support several students on campus.

The Center for Access, Success and Achievement (CASA) aims to recruit, retain, and graduate underrepresented, first generation, and Pell Eligible students through holistic support in a culturally diverse and academically excellent environment.

Up next on our is Dr Heidi Rose Ph.D. She is the Chair of the Department of Communication at Villanova University. She is also a Professor of Performance Studies. Her teaching and research focus on performance, culture and identity, in particular cultural performance that draws attention to power structures. Swipe left to learn more about Dr Rose.

Join us on Friday, April 9th at 1pm on Austin Field as we open a temporary memorial space to help us name and hold our losses during the pandemic. This is a time of prayer, collective mourning, and ritual that will include an opportunity to write down the names of deceased loved ones on ribbons to display publicly as well as brief remarks from Father Peter, our own Ariella Robbins, the Rev. Julia Sheetz, and other student speakers.

Enroll in Intergroup Relations Dialogue (COM 5300), a 1-credit social justice course where students have honest conversations about their life experiences in order to explore identities, systemic inequities, and paths for social change.
