Eileen Rowan Cohen '85 MSN (Nursing Education) died on May 8, 2026, in Milford, Conn. at age 75. Eileen was a faculty member, an administrator, a pediatric nurse, a visiting nurse in Appalachia, and a volunteer for veterans and those who were experiencing homelessness. May she rest in peace.

We are saddened to share that Mary Christine Sheats of Frostburg, Md., passed away on March 13 at the age of 86. A 1961 Villanova Nursing graduate, Mary dedicated her career to caring for older adults as a geriatric nurse and was actively engaged in civic, public health and environmental organizations.

A nurse practitioner in long-term care and community-based settings through clinical practice with the Sheppard Pratt Health System, Beth is also professor and chair of the University of Maryland School of Nursing (UMSON) Department Organizational Systems and Adult Health (OSAH).
