How does your work contribute to a more just and sustainable future?
The 2026 International Sustainability Conference: Responding to the Cries of the Earth and the Poor, hosted by Villanova University, invites researchers, practitioners, and changemakers from all disciplines to submit their abstracts.
Whether your focus is theoretical or practical, we want to hear how your research drives concrete solutions to today’s environmental and social challenges. Multidisciplinary and transdisciplinary approaches are highly encouraged!

You can apply for lightning talks, poster presentations, or both:
*Lightning Talks: Dynamic 7-minute presentations during concurrent sessions.
*Poster Presentations: Showcase your work in the Patristicum’s vibrant common areas and cafeteria (posters will be provided).
📝 Submission Guidelines
To ensure a smooth evaluation by our research committee, please make sure your abstract meets the following criteria:
*Length: Maximum of 500 words (covering introduction, methods, results, and conclusions).
*Title: Concise and informative (no subtitles, abbreviations, or acronyms).
*Keywords: Include 4 - 6 keywords.
*Eligibility: Only original work. The primary author must have contributed to the research and obtained all necessary regulatory/ethical approvals.

On Monday, May 25, Pope Leo XIV presented his first encyclical titled “Magnifica Humanitas”—or “Magnificent Humanity.” Villanova scholars shared their expertise on key themes of the papal letter, which addressed what it means to be human in an increasingly technological world.
