The first reunion in 2001, 5 years out, held at Douglas County Social Club.

This Saturday, May 23, 2026 from 2-4 pm at the Villa Grove VFW (Main St.).
Are you going to be there?

Becky (Clabaugh) Kincaid and her husband have graciously offered to host a post-reunion party in their garage (a block from the VFW - 1 South Oak Street). Please plan on continuing the celebration there!

Today at 2 pm Villa Grove High School is graduating the Class of 2026. Congratulations to them!

30 years ago we were all together for the last time as the VGHS class of 1996.
If you are able, please come & catch up with your classmates on Saturday, its been too long for many of us!

Key Events on May 8, 1996:

South Africa Constitution: The Constitutional Assembly formally adopted a new permanent constitution, replacing the 1993 interim version and cementing rights after apartheid.

1996 Everest Disaster: A severe storm struck Mount Everest, leading to the beginning of a disaster that would take the lives of eight climbers over the next few days.

World Music Awards: Michael Jackson won five awards, including Best Selling Male Pop Artist and Best Selling Album for Thriller, and performed "Earth Song" in Monaco.

Sports Milestone: NY Yankee Dwight Gooden won his first game back after a suspension, defeating the Tigers 10-3.

Soccer: Paris Saint-Germain won the 36th European Cup Winner's Cup by defeating Rapid Wien 1-0 in Brussels.

Number 1 Song: Mariah Carey's "Always Be My Baby"

Top Billboard Album: Fairweather Johnson by Hootie & the Blowfish

Number 1 country song on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart was "You Win My Love" by Shania Twain.

The 16th annual VGHS Honors Banquet was held at the Chancellor Convention Center in Champaign, IL. Many awards and 73 scholarships were presented to college-bound seniors.
